cianofarmer glad to hear you came out unscathed but I know it's been a lot of work for you breaking down the shop and resetting it. Just the anxiety alone can be fiscally draining. So pace yourself (we're a very patient group, just take a look at the LD threads Some very nice looking jackets you made there! I'm likeing the Brando. But thinking it may be a bit to short for me (I don't really like the short levis jackets). What would the length be in a Large?

Glad nothing happened to your machines. Your jackets are dope. I think I'll be grabbing one in the late summer for fall and winter. The brando looks sick, and that black four pocket duck car coat looks great too.

Thanks...GOD was looking over the shop..we pray alot here in Texas we can do a custom length for you.. just let me know where you need to be..? this M BRADON JACKET came in at 25" as per the custom for a size M.. so it will hit about 1-2" below the waist for his size we usually do and 26" for a L we can do it longer? we have not posted the the specs for the M Brandon Jacket on the site yet because it is new..but the measurements are the same as the Field jacket except the length is around 1-2" longer than the field jacket... Let me know what you need.? Cheers Ciano

Ciano, thanks for posting these pics of my jackets. They look great. It's good to deal with a guy who takes pride in his work like that.
They'll take about 2 weeks to arrive, but I'll put up fit pics when they do. I have two G chore coats already, but this one looks a lot more substantial.

After a cold wash in the washer and hang dry, my 18oz coat has definitely shrunk. The sleeves are a bit short (still wearable) and totally slim fit now (great). The fabric has also soften and draped better now. For everyone reference: Prewash: P2P 21, Sleeve 25, back length 28, Post Wash: P2P 20, Sleeves 23, Back length 26.5. Has anyone else seen shrink results for say their chore coat as WILS had?

Just wear it in the shower. Ha, I've done that with leather, but doing it with canvas would just seem kinda odd. People might think I'm weird.

I keep preaching sticking a cookie sheet or something into these garments to prevent overshrink. I did it with my Flat Head 7001 Denim Western Shirt an it held the 22" chest I needed. And it was CLINGING to the pan after the soak, so it would have shrunk below that size for sure. But the rest of it shrank wonderfully (length, shoulders, sleeve width). I'm tellin' ya people, STUFF YO GARMENTS, YO. EDIT: P.S. cool jacket, cianofarmer !

whiskeyriver, tell me more about this cookie sheet of which you speak. Does it stop shrinkage somehow?

whiskeyriver, tell me more about this cookie sheet of which you speak. Does it stop shrinkage somehow? Well, any metal pan or stiff wide object in your chest size would work. And assuming no sarcasm haha, yes it stops the shrinkage at the size of the object stuffed inside your garment. So I found a 22" pan (mine was actually a metal roasting pan, but I've used cookie sheets on jeans that were 18"+ long for when my waist was 36"...it's a touch smaller now, so I have to find a new item darn it) and shoved it into my Flat Head shirt and it shrunk to the size of the pan and obviously couldn't shrink more than that. I let it dry partly like that to account for the shrinking that can occur while drying, and then hung it to dry like normal.

whiskeyriver, OK got you. It's a translation thing. I'd probably call that an oven tray. I thought you meant like a fabric softener sheet that's usually put into tumble dryers. I couldn't work out how a piece of fabric could miraculously target shrinkage.

i see a market for custom waist and torso forms....you get sent a kit to make a cast and then make a mold of yourself from plaster or ballistic gel to maintain size/shape when washing our delicate denim, canvas, and twills...

Funny my ex-gf is a master seamstress. One of the first steps in the program is to make a papier-mâché cast of her bust, torso etc. So you can fit clothing for Yourself in the class. So basically this thing was in our bedroom and it was like naked. It's was creepy but kinda cool. The reason we broke up wasn't because I cheated on her with the papier-mâché mannequin.

I liked the modified type III ( selvedgestyle.com/post/45128 ) so much I'm going to have one made in the Indigo/Indigo but with a navy corduroy collar and pocket linings. I just continue to be amazed at the quality of construction and willingness to customize from Ciano.
