ickes, yeah, I think it'll be unusual and am looking forward to seeing them. I guess the blackXblack will be different to the IH 21oz superblack I have in a vest.

Heard back from Ciano today about these, so he's alive and well. I ordered indigo, but now I have my 21oz IH-634S, indigo seemed a waste of time, so I've changed to the 23oz black with black stitching. I ordered on the day they came out, in early June I think, so am at about 11 weeks and counting. I'm guessing it's going to be 16 at least before they're made. Nice! Good move. Clutch Monkey and Ciano both got a hold of that 23oz blackxblack fabric. Other than those two guys I can't think of anywhere else where you can find a 23oz blackxblack fabric. That's insane. Well, besides lawless denim attempting to procure it as their own supima cotton heavyweight denim.

I Wonder who has the earliest order date or will get the first notification of shipping. Have there been any updates? Just wondering since it was mentioned there would be finished version for the pictures.

Just wondering since it was mentioned there would be finished version for the pictures. I ordered the 23oz BlackxBlack pair the day they came out. I just received an email today (8/26) from Ciano with pics of my 23oz pair attached. Like Christmas in August! DAVID here are some initial pics of the 23oz...i need this one more day to take better pictures.. the sun is a little bright and we are going to have to wait toward the evening to finish taking pictures. i will send this 2 day priority USPS so you can get this faster. Cheers Ciano

indigoferanut, lucky you. I ordered the indigo the same day, but two weeks ago changed to black and was told they'd order the material, so I guess I'm still weeks away. I look forward to your pics.

Quick review of 23oz BxB's from Ciano (the pair Ciano photographed earlier in this thread). Just received them in the mail yesterday...what can I say, Ciano knocked them out of the park. Sewn to specs (unlike other companies where you need to "size up" on heavier denim...."beastgate" anyone?). Not a stitch out of place, rivets and buttons are solid (nothing going to pop off here), leather patch is the most substantial one I have ever seen, pocket bags have an ideal depth, belt loops sewn into waistband, chainstitched hem to my custom inseam. Overall an air of quality craftsmanship and attention to detail is evident. 23oz denim will take some breaking in, but not so much as to make it a chore.
In short, could not be happier.

The midwest weather gave it one last go for summer and is cooling off. Everyone I know is dreading the end but I am secretly celebrating because I am hitting 13 weeks on my indigo 23oz and the weather will be perfect for them. If people would just buy super heavy cardboard thick jeans they would be excited for the cool down too!

My 23oz black turned up. Initial impression is that this is a really solid material. It's much more similar to my 21oz superblack IH vest in terms of stiffness than it is to my 21oz IH-634Ss. The patch is a monster, but I see there's no logo on the coin pocket. The rear pockets are half lined, which is always nice. Unwashed, the waist came in on spec at 35" for a 32" label. This is meant to shrink to 34". I'd asked for a 35" post-soak leg, but these have come in at a pre-soak 35", which surprises me and makes me a bit nervous about the first soak. I'm going to do a very luke-warm soak instead of the planned hot now. Assuming the leg still allows a single cuff, I reckon these will be a great buy and ideal for winter. Here's a quick shot of the patch:

Here's a quick shot of the patch: These look great! One trick I've been employing with my initial soaks, especially with the waist being that close to your ideal specs, would be to do a leg-only soak and keep the waist unsoaked until you deem it necessary after wearing. I've done that with a few pairs to avoid the suffocation and it's been quite beneficial.

After drip drying all night and about 9 hours outside in a breeze and sun, these are now dry and here's a fit pic, worn with green Tricker's Stow boots with orange Dainite soles and a green Equus belt to liven them up. The waist came down from 35" to 34" as planned, and the inseam down from 35" to 34.5", so bearable. They feel ridiculously stiff to carry, but once they're on, they actually feel quite good. I think a double cuff on denim this thick and stiff would look pretty wide and stupid, so the single cuff is working for me. Now begins the task of beating them into submission, but my initial verdict is that these are a good buy, they feel good, the workmanship is fine and I'm glad I got them.
