Oni Denim

I'm looking at Onis too but having a hard time narrowing down what fit I want. The thing I like about Oni is that they make some "lighter" weight jeans in the 14-18oz range so I could use these as a summer pair. I love me my Iron Hearts but they don't seem to make anything below an 18oz denim. Guys any recommendations on a fit? A slim straight fit is what I'd be looking for on par with a Gustin Slim fit.

Their 517 is probably the closest to G's Slim cut. The raw/unsanforized version should end up pretty much the same as the one wash version once you've soaked them.

So you're looking at 34W / 10.25FR / 12.75T / 8.75K / 7.75H for the ONI 34"W

Against G's 33 Slim: 33.5W / 10FR / 11.5T / 8K / 7.5H

My guess is that measuring placement differences account for the seemingly roomier thigh on the ONIs, in practice the cuts are very similar.

Ickes - I went with the 517"s because of the similarity to the G slim's as Julian pointed out. By the way, how quickly does Rodeo Bros usually come back with an email to confirm shipping cost?

Hmmmm...found a pair in my size on Rakuten but the vendor doesn't have the "We Welcome Foreign Buyers" posted in the left hand corner. Has anyone ever bought from a vendor on Rakuten that doesn't welcome foreign buyers? It's the only vendor that has them in my size (FRISBEE).

Well without doing too much research and by going off of yours and Julians recommendations it looks like I'd be a size 34 in the ONI-517XXBE.  I'm just not sure if they are sanforized or not.

I saw a few shops that carry both one wash and no wash cell bitch - I would think it would be labeled that way

My understanding is any vendors found through the "Global" Rakuten site will ship internationally.  The "Foreign Buyers" might be a marketing tool that some of the larger shops use.  Looking at Frisbee's Shop Overview, they do exclude a few countries, but not the US, for international shipping.

They got back to me within a couple of hours and shipped the same day as soon as I confirmed.

I'm pretty sure they are unsanforized. 

I might be wrong but I think all Onis are unsanforized.

But remember, many Japanese retailers do a "one wash" to shrink them before selling. This can apply to unsanforized and sometimes for sanforized too, and the size charts are post "one wash". You have to check the description, or ask the retailer if it is unclear.

True. Also, it helps to know if it's written "Nonuosshu" next to the jeans, it means not washed.

thanks guys. Yeah I've seen the One Wash fit guides and I just assumed it meant that they had been soaked/washed.

Ickes - I took the one wash to mean they had been soaked/washed. i bought the one-wash and used the fit guide from blueingreen soho to determine fit.  I'm quire sure that Oni's are unsanforized.  this is what I used for sizing the 517's:
