I'll be picking up my Onis on the way home today and if they work out I'll also be in a two pair rotation with my IH and Onis.

Thought you guys would find it funny - with the rise and tightness in the top block, i'm experiencing some male camel-toe - need some stretch to happen. Feel free to add the applicable jokes in your response ONI - or, in your case, One Nut Incapacitated

With all the talk about speedy delivery, I have not received my Kabuki, yet. Funny thing is, they made it to Chicago in less than 2 days. The last 100 miles is going on twice as long. Go figure. :/

It appears my Kabuki were less Vedge than yours. (It's a stretch, I know.)

Question for the brahs who have bought from Rodeo Bros..... Do you typically have to pick them up at the post office, or is it home delivered ?

The post office has always attempted delivery to my house, though they require a signature. Usually no one is home so I have to pick it up the next day. Same goes for all my Rakuten purchases.

They always deliver to your house but you have to sign for it, so if you're not home then they leave it at the post office for you to pick up the next day. The Mailman will leave a card in your door. I've ordered five items from Rakuten from multiple different vendors and they have all been this way so far.

Okay guys. If I want to upgrade from the world of Gustin, would you recommend Oni, Iron Heart, or JPB? I like the 633 cut, but the top block is a little big for me.

Big Oni day on here. I received my 527s today. 3 days to my door. Tracking on ems didn't even show it going thru customs. I'll post pre and post soak measurements tomorrow.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. Lighter, go Pure Blue Japan (which is not Japan Blue, if you're trolling Rakuten), mid seems to be Oni, heavy is Iron Heart. I don't think there's anyone here that's going to tell you you can live with only one of the three. Unless you really don't like heavy weights, then people will usually not point you at Iron Heart. So if you want direction, state what you like in Gustin and someone can get you pointed there (such as, if you love the 12oz Italian denims from Gustin, 21oz loomstate Iron Heart is not going to be an easy transition).

Full disclosure, though, I'm not in any one of the three, so my advice is worth a grain of salt if you want hands-on experience. I'm either going PBJ or Oni next because I love the look of their fabrics.

Yes, actually exophobe gives good advice here. It is all going to depend on what you want and what you're looking for. Do you want lightweight, midweight, or heavyweight? Loomstate, Unsanforized, Sanforized? Slubby? Neppy? Colored weft? White weft? Also what kind of fit are you looking for?

I think a slim straight or slim tapered. As far as weight, probably in the 14 oz range. Im super interested in a pair of left hand twill also. Probably one wash or sanforized just for ease of ordering. I don't have any experience with loomstate or unsanforized. I like the PBJ xx-11 and xx-13 but I haven't found any Onis that really call out to me.
As I posted in the IH thread, I really like the 666s-19l too. What would be comparable in Oni?

Given what you're after, I would suggest going with PBJ (first...) All three have very different denim fabrics and styles and all of them produce top-tier jeans. You literally cannot go wrong whichever of those three brands you choose, but from what you're leaning towards, PBJ would be the first port of call if I were you. The X011 seems to fit your brief to the letter.

Gotta say that the 527 fit is exactly what I was looking for. It really feels like the perfect mid point between G Slim and G Straight in both rise and cuff opening. This is my first pair of heavy denim, but will certainly not be the last. Of course I'm still looking for some 10oz or less, which seems to be Momotaro or Japan Blue territory. Time to do some Vari shopping.
