New release shirts as of yesterday - tempting - I like the idea of the rainbow next specs within a chambray. Nothing too heavy, but the shirts have a unique character to them. I'm a little hesitant about the new sizing, as my current shirts all came in a little under the specs for the (now) classic medium. I'd prefer slim, but I'm thinking I may size up to a slim L if Gustin continues to sew up differently than the specs.

Some nice things, but the more I look around the more the pricing on Gustin seems high. Nothing great in the new fits as there's still nothing to fit a guy larger than a 46. This is America. This is 2014. I am not some freak being a 48. Still don't get the whole lack of larger sizes thing, especially since they go to a 40 in the jeans...

I'm less and less inclined to get shirts from Gustin. I know Roman, and his crew are working on new shirts, and getting cool materials, so I'll be putting more attenting over there. Agree that with Gustins constant pricing increases, they are not the same value as once was, especially if the fit isn't perfect.

I'm with you. But being the way I am, I'm holding out until I see some products in the hands of the nice folks here...

I didn't speak to the price - just strictly the pattern, I'm interested. But the Rainbow Neps were the first denim I backed from G and this new shirt is $10 more than the jeans...
That said, I'll probably take a drive down to LD and see what's in the queue. I don't necessarily need heavy denim shirts - but the chambray works well with the work and play options.

I've got a 15oz. Western, and the chambray work shirt on order. Really want to get these in hand before ordering anything else, but I know that they are sourcing some nice wool, and will be offering up a CPO done the right way very soon. That said, I'm sure I'll be in on a 18oz. wool shirt when it is up.

Living in the desert forces me to be creative with my justifications for buying heavier options - like layers to wear on trips north and back east.

I'm thinking along the same lines, as I figure I will be using the heavier denim shirt to ride, when its too hot for leather, and have it double as a denim jacket.

The latest IG post (10/27) teases more chino colors coming our way - burgundy, "sage" green (best guess on that color), and of course, more in dark brown and British khaki.

There are workshirt shots showing up in the Community thread for those of you that can still access it. HS1 looks awesome, IxI looks exactly as I thought it would (only backed the HS1 out of this first batch). Anyway, why I'm here:
Brown Heavyweight Belt from Gustin arrived today. I was happy with my Natural Heavyweight, that came in right about 3/16ths of an inch, but this guy is punching in a whole different class. Full quarter of an inch thick and I love the color, thanks to Old26 for recommending.

Can't figure out where the hell to put this. Gustin backpack picture is up on Instagram. I think it looks slouchy like an incase that's about 6 months old, but I do think it'll work well in waxed canvas.

Well they must be confident they have fixed sizing issues as Loomstates are back in black. Any feelings about a half a width of chambray with a edge on it call it a scarf? would have almost liked to see it in the 7.x+oz chambray fabric they just used but meh.

Interesting offerings - I would have thought they would have released a messenger bag before a backpack. As for the scarf, when I was visiting the LD shop in Phoenix on Tuesday, I mentioned that Roman should offer a British Millerain (a little too oiled though) cloth or a wool/chambray offering - Not sure if it's needed seeing the latest offering from G. Maybe.

My desert duck chinos turned up today. Thicker, heavier and stiffer than the Japan Olives, they're quite an unusual material, a kind of waffle weave. Nice enough though, but will need to hem them.

When did Gustin's "new arrivals" evolve into a show about a bunch of semi-attractive (being kind here) cliquish women from a big city? Oh wait, I get it...it must be an indirect reference to our friends at G...harsh guys, harsh. I'm not sure if the "Stock Store Special Invite" email from G can be justified as a new arrival - but it is technically the Saturday drop. Nice to see some options in 33 slim (hemp organic, slub brown, blue silk, etc.), but I still miss the good 'ol days of the grab bag. Tempting options...not sure I'll pull the trigger this weekend.

Well, these aren't exactly new arrivals since I've had them both for about a month and a half, but the temps finally dropped into the 50s and 60s down here so I spent the whole weekend in my Zimbabwes and my Supple 16s. Not at the same time; that would be silly. But one or the other was girding my loins over the past two days. Both of them are just fantastic.
I've worn the Zims a few times for yardwork and stuff. Same drill this weekend, and it was nice to not be sweating like crazy in them for a change. The Zim fabric is truly a gift from the heavens. I have never encountered anything so comfortable that can take such a beating, get dusted off, and barely even show it. Cosmetically, I love the slightly off-indigo cast (some say grey, I still say green) and the chunky veg tan patch. I am kinda regretting not backing the 18-oz Zims now, even at that price point. Seems funny to say so, but those might be an absolute bargain; these 15-ouncers seem practically bulletproof so I can see an even bigger, badder version of the Zims possibly lasting for a decade or more.
The Sup16s are also phenomenal in their own way. They are so obscenely soft and comfortable that I feel as though I'm cheating ... something ... in some way. I don't know how to explain it, really. I'm wearing them again today, and they just feel too decadent for the office. The indigo is quite dark, almost black, and it doesn't seem to crock much. The double-ID is neat; unlikely to be noticed by anyone else (unless you run in the sort of circles where people stare at your cuffs all the time), but fun nevertheless. G finished one side of the fly with the orange-yellow ID and the other side with the black ID. Nice touch.
I would recommend both unreservedly.

plus one on the Zimbs Mattbert! Those things are soo freaking sweet. I wore mine this weekend as well and I totally agree with everything you said about them...nailed it. The shade of indigo is very cool and I can tell it will fade beautifully.

Army Green Duck Canvas Chino has arrived...that's really, really tempting. As well as the return of the Italian Greenlines. I'll save the WS comment for the WS thread.

The Army Herringbone Chore Coat has arrived and I quite like it, as it's a nice thickish material and the buttons look better than the studs on my Ventile one. I had thought it would go with the DTBs and other earthy colours, but my style advisors say it looks ridiculous like that. Very Man at C&A as we used to say.
I'm only allowed to wear it with black or blue jeans, and not for the first time I bitterly regret having my lovely BlackxBlacks hemmed.

got a brown slub chambray in today from the stock store. love the shirt. noticed that the left cuff was a little tight though...upon examination the first button on the cuff is completely gone and the second one was buttoned while the first (looser) one was buttoned on the right cuff.
can't tell if it's worth complaining about or just spend the 5min sewing the extra one from the inner placket on and get over it.

I mean, I'd rather not receive a shirt that I have to sew a freaking button on from the get go. But the fabric is soooo nice.
