Hi All We have wanted to do something like this for a while. Many members have asked about it and discussed ideas for a group buy of jeans to help celebrate the forums 1 year anniversary. We, the Mods, like the idea and have started getting some options and numbers together. We want to get an idea of how many would put there money towards a pair. This will help us get the best deal we can. We are looking at a the option of a heavy weight indigo selvedge jean with a custom selvedge Style Forum leather patch. A fabric that will produce nice fades. A few different fit options. Straight, Slim fit. Possible custom option, more money, maybe Skinny? $100-$140 range plus shipping. These will be of a high quality with features we are used to seeing on a selvedge pair of jeans.
So please participate in the poll and please do not say you will purchase and then don't when the time comes. We understand if finances change and you can't swing it but we would like this to be fairly accurate. If you have been lurking the forum as a guest and are interested please become a member and join in on the fun and spending. We will leave this open for a week. Thanks your Mods.
These are now available to order. $168USD 23oz JPN Limited Edition "SS" BLACK/BLACK PINK Selvage Denim ORDER FORM LINK cfdco1.typeform.com/to/kQoIns

Not to complicate this. it'll be fun, cool, interesting for us members who buy into this. But I think we should stand for /represent/express more then a bunch of denim guys. Maybe we could tack on $10 with every pair to go to some charity. It need not be complicated. The mods pick one and the money is sent. Maybe a homeless shelter for clothing. Just a thought.

Will they be buttery soft?

As much as I'd like a Heavy 20oz+ If it's to difficult to get Buttery or at least Marginally soft (get it, butter-margarine) I'd rather go with a 16oz.

I can't get in on a pair of jeans... My line-up is set. I really liked the idea of a shirt

i'm in no way in need of another pair of indigos. i love this idea, but the fabric (and patch design) would have to be interesting/unique enough for me to snag a pair.

I'd be good with 18oz as well. I honestly can't tell the diff between 14oz and 16oz, so 18 has been my cutoff as I have lots of <16oz stuff. Whatever the group decides...

I'll have to pass. I think I have a lifetime supply of jeans right now. It's a good idea though and I'd support it if it was something other than jeans.

I'm interested but can't commit. I have a decent number of indigos. I may be interested if the fabric is interesting but can't commit until I get more info.

How about a Tshirt Instead? Looks like a lot may like the idea but between cost and having to many pairs in rotation, may not appeal to the majority of the community. But a cool Heavy T with some of the proceeds going to charity. I think more guys could get behind that.

Who would prefer a Denim shirt over jeans?

I would be interested in a pair jeans if the denim was something special or exclusive. Denim that is 18oz or above that has a unique warp or weft. I like the idea of the leather patch representing this forum. If the denim jeans idea does not pan out. How about a tee shirt that is made with either Pima or Zimbabwe cotton. Made with some sort of logo or wording on the Tee shirt that represents this forum. And the tee should be indigo dyed so it will fade nicely over time.

We are working on a cool patch design on great leather. Jeans seem to be the obvious choice for this even though shirts and other items would be great also. We will see if we get enough interest if not we can look at other options. Adding black or other fabric color/weight options isn't necessarily out of the question either. We are just trying to get the best bang for the buck and that involves buying fabric in quantity.

I like the idea, but simply have too many jeans to justify another pair. You can never have too many shirts or t-shirts, though, and I'd be in for one of those, depending on materials.

I'm down either way. I only have one pair of heavy jeans and have a serious novelty t-shirt habit, so...

I'm in for whatever the majority want. My preference would be: 1-indigo 18oz or better 2-western shirt
