I received a fabric sample from cianofarmerIt is a very nice! 20oz Japanese Indigo with green selvedge line. It is somewhere between stiff and butter soft. I like it personally. I will post up pics soon. Also a sample of their heavy leather patch. It is a nice chunk of leather. Working on a 18-21oz black selvedge fabric as an alternative to indigo also. Here is a rough logo for the leather patch. Text will change to reflect final product. It will include text listing the manufacturer and made in the USA. The SS and 21oz will get smaller as more text is added. Will not look so bold when stamped either Feel free to give your thoughts. Had feedback of not having the text follow the circle pattern on the top. I'd like to see a "1 of 50" or the like on the patch... Thanks for reminding me. That was a great idea. Yes we will be stamping what number pair of the total. I would think the way to do that would be to maybe label in order as to when people pay for their pair.

It reminds me more of Chevrolet's current SS branding than this forum, not that I have anything against Chevy SS vehicles -- maybe an ampersand in the middle could change it up a bit more? I also think mention of what the occasion is would be a good idea, since it's a limited edition to commemorate the one year anniversary (unless that's no longer the goal).

Yes the Anniversary is the main reason and also just to do it because we can. Will see how much text we can fit in without it looking too busy. Ampersand noted. Yes the SS has a vintage Chevy logo vibe. Not sure if they still use it now.

I'm thinking of this logo when I say Chevy (as seen on the new SS Sedan): I prefer the ones that carry this logo:

Better than using the Schutzstaffel logo... I've already posted about how my brownshirt makes me feel, I can't even imagine.

With as much samurai and ninja reference as the Japanese denim companies use, it's probably good that ze Germs aren't big into denim manufacturing.

I hear that, especially given the Japanese Nazi-insensitivity.

It is a logo and with just SS no one would really know what it stood for not that that really matters. I just thought it looked cool.

Yes I could have easily went with some Ninja, Japanese thing but wanted to have a USA vibe without American flags etc. The SS design seemed like a decent way to go.

I think it could look pretty cool if it's done as an "S" within an "S" using two vintage variations and having it appear "burned" into the leather. Maybe keep it to the left justified and use the other space for:
S&SF Limited Ed. 1 of 50 21 oz.

"Working on a 18-21oz black selvedge fabric as an alternative to indigo also." Great!!! I'd love a pair.

How about a stylized selvedge stripe made into a brand, then burned into the patch-kinda like a railroad track across the leather. That way the SS isn't front and center, on account of the connotations.

Super late on this, but it seems like representation from the maker would be good. Most collaborations have logos or imagery representing both entities involved...or at least a 'by indigogene' or 'from cianofarmer'. Makes me wish I was a bit more handy in the design department.

I prefer the other style S. We are open to try other things though. I haven't had time to attend to this but will be this week.

I like the wreath idea But it would be cool if it was in Indigo Leaf Or an Indigo branch. But I'd think it would be hard to have it in the back ground on the leather patch. Maybe Indigo branches up the sides. Most likely hard to make and kind spin off of RailCars natural indigo patch.

Please no wreaths with the double s. The ampersand helps, but this is still a little touchy.
