Just to show that not everyone hates scoops, I'm a big fan of them, but they must have selvedge gussets in them. Not a fan of shirts with straight hems at all, far too Tommy Bahama. Here's one of my RRL workshirts:

No problem highlights, I just wish I could have caught the slanted pockets earlier & convinced Gustin to change their design permanently. It still mystifies me why they want to offer a classic, simple workshirt & slap some novelty slanted pockets on them. @untucked hehe sorry. I think Gustin's postal WS should look very similar to that.

You guys just reminded me about the diagonal vs normal pocket convos with Gustin via Cody and Instagram and live feed. I was not a fan of the diagonal pocket thing either. Wasn't the final agreement from Gustin to go with normal pockets on everything? The fabric from the first batch of work shirts had yet to even be cut at the time of the conversation unless I'm mistaken. I backed the postal and it was the last of the first group. Normal pockets all around correct?

no, I believe only normal pockets on the WabiSabi. postal h.bone and wabisabi are the only two to get vertically aligned pockets.

Subsound: Could you post a pic or link to the front of the shirt. I am gonna get a LD postal h-bone WS with black normal buttons but am really torn with the thread. For a long time I was set on white thread, but today I was thinking that I might think outside of the box and that maybe tonal stitching (or slightly darker blue)would actually work better especially since the weft is brown and a crisp white might look bad. I was just thinking that I wish there were an off-white thread option and then started thinking "-hey..why am I thinking about this" and so seeing that pic really helped with the option of a "tonal" stitch on this particular fabric.

I am looking forward to the cone 101 WS. Should be exactly what I was looking for in a work shirt. Went with my normal shirt size large. The shirt should age perfectly just like some solid denim. Weight should be nice and heavy.

Griffin & all, More pics of my RRL herringbone selvedge workshirt. Colour is not accurate, I took this at night with my iPhone flash & adjusted it from memory, so it looks darker than it its, but you can see the thread color and that the pockets use straight (aligned) fabric. I couldn't imagine how poor it would look if the pocket fabric was diagonal. B. Attachments:

Agreed pockets need to be aligned. I love my RRL shirts especially when you can get them for the same price as a Gustin shirt when on sale which happens more than most people know. The current sale has been going on for months. Apparently RRL made a change to the way he will be handling sales moving forward. In the past end of season items would go to the outlets & would be discounted by 75%..The new sale system will have these items sent to the warehouse to be sold online instead which is great for us because the sales seam to be running longer. You are now seeing the term clearance being attached to items online & that never happened

WS update number 2 was sent out. Looks like things are a bit ahead of schedule, that's very cool. For anyone who missed it:

Below is the list of fabrics in this batch:

As I've said b4, when I get my SakeBomber I'll have benefited, big-time, due to your incisive & immediate responses/calls. I get diagonals on flannels, but that's the only exception for me. I'm in, bro'!! - 'Brothers For Alignment'.

Anyone else wish Gustin put pocket flaps on (at least on one side). No matter how nice the fabric is or the construction, with out the flap(s) it may be heard for me to back anymore then the two I have coming. Maybe one Flannel

Maybe one Flannel Pocket flaps are good to have but I almost always will choose a shirt that has even better pocket design than anything else. Like having a pent slot or pockets that are shaped different. The Gustin pockets are basic so it needs to be as clean & perfect as possible

My tailor insists that she will make aligned pocket flaps for SakeBomber w/ the extra length available (I ordered up a size to get a 17" collar)...I RARELY openly disagree w/ the fairer sex - so flaps it will be!!! Pretty sure I'll be the only the guy in Sydney/the cosmos rockin' a pimped-up SakeBomber (?!)...point being: will chuck up pics when time comes 'cos I know that there's plenty of brahs dig/prefer flap (& snap) option too.

Hope you decided on your sizes, looks like they locked em down today. Was sort of hoping they'd let the first run out before they locked the rest of them, but sort of realized they couldn't. It seems like most stuff for November delivery is locked now, except the contest American sixteeners, which I'm a bit surprised by. anyway, that Italy brown x black workshirt is gonna look amazing with my Japan olive denim, and they'll probably be coming in somewhat close to the same time. If I've played my cards right, I can throw the wabisabi over the top of it and have a workshirt extravaganza!!

Looks like sizing locked in on the Wabi Sabi and Italy BrownXBlack WS (and any others in this production group I assume).
I was hoping the BrownXBlack sizing would stay open until group 1 was delivered (postal blue) and I could confirm my choice but I knew the risk going in so no whining.
I'll either going to have three WS I like or three WS for sale based on the slim XL fit ha ha...
