Allen Edmonds' Shoebank is having a Seconds Sale that started yesterday to the public. I have half a mind to buy the Shell Strands in Brown Burnished for $399. Trying to resist with every fiber in my being.  |

The one AE that I'd still like. I just moved, started the kid in daycare and want a pair of Alden Indy's first, but AE's shell sale happens multiple times a year and I will eventually grab a pair of those.
Wait, their sale is on regular, non seconds for $400. Hold out for that. It even covers custom orders. And here's where I admit I'd like a second AE, a burgundy shell Leeds.

Enabler!!!!!! I was about to buy a pair of 21oz IH-777's , but just decided that black shell chukkas are a more wise for only $20 more

So, gents... It's not a "factory seconds" sale, necessarily. The pair of chukkas I chose are firsts, but one show has light creasing from being tried on.  |

There's just somethig a little blocky and clown shoey about the Strandmok, it's hard to describe, but they just seem bigger than they need to be. |

bentin they definitely seem to be a slightly wider shape than the regular Strand. I'd have to look at them in person and do a comparison.

Yeah, they are wider than the regular Strands, and the welt just seems heavier. The ones I've seen in person also seem more haphazardly burnished than the image above. Wanted to love them, just can't. Much like the brown Odenwalds.

i'm not really a fan of AE but if I were to buy a pair of shoes from them it would have to be the Leeds either in brown calf or brown cordovan

Allen Edmonds is having their annual sale (sure most of you know already) including some new variations. I picked up a pair of the new offering of Strands with Dainite sole in Oxblood for $279. I picked mine up last night but they announced the sale this morning.
