Thought I'd start this out with a few photo's of a little get together with the owner & business partner Haraki & Giles. Iv said this before but they know how to run a business as they actually become friends with their customers. Giles who is a business partner for IH outside of Japan even went as far sent me a gift for my daughter when she was born. This was a party I went to at Self Edge NY which was planned for quite a bit. . They make amazing pieces that last forever Haraki San (Ih owner) in a Black leather western that was amazing in person. I believ there is only 2 out there which you will see the 2nd below IH Wabash vest & maybe my favorite well worn jeans by Unbranded of all co's Haraki, Kiya (Self Edge) IH wabash & the IHSh 54 Flannel My Wife & I Me having a denim geek moment Giles wife & son to the right of me & yes she has a wabash shirt on Again me in backround geeking out with Giles who is seriously a great man Kiya (Self Edge) Gavin & myslef. Gavin started the HWDC & is the owner of NoKipple which is an online store he has filled with some great brands many of us have never heard of like the Sagara shoes co I spoke of previously

Good ish NY! My only problems with IH are:
Price Sizing. They make nothing in my rage on top. Oddly, they make my size in Jeans, but I can't justify the cost.

I promise you if you were to ever take the plunge it would be ah haa moment for you. Their 21 oz denim is amazing. I am in your boat atm with the shirts not fitting. Since these photos I gained quite a bit of weight. By the way check here for IH sales. You can grab some cool pieces like a $00 pair of jeans for $250 or less. www.ironheart.co.uk/specials

Can't justify the output though.

EXACTLY! ^^^^^
Thanks for the pics DirtyDenim. Personally I don't think I will ever be able to take the IH plunge. I absolutely cannot be convinced that their products are actually worth the prices they are charging for it. The mark ups seem to be completely absurd. Keep in mind I have never seen an IH product in person, but this is just my two cents

IH is a huge commitment. I mean, I could forego a larger wardrobe for some very select items but my whims change as much as fashion does and I'd probably be stuck with stuff I wouldn't wear past a couple of seasons.
I really am excited to see how the LD orders turn out because I'd just open my wallet and point it at Roman in a second.

Matt, you are dead on. They are shamefully marked up, and you can only buy from a few sources, so they control the pricing. I agree that their stuff is right on, but I flat out won't pay that kind of finders fee to get it.

Guys, sorry - I'm just as guilty of this as you. But Winterland reminded me that our goal here is to talk openly, but to keep the vendor areas somewhat dig-free zones. So if we want to chat about prices, etc., lets do it in a general chat and not in the brand thread. We're hoping to get more like Roman involved here if possible, so we would all have to learn to do this if possible. If you guys don't want that here, let us know. The point was a place where we could come and let loose, but on the flip, if we want vendors to come in, we have to treat them with respect.
If you have any thoughts or concerns, hit us up. We're trying to figure out what way to go here...

I think people should be able to express why they wont buy from a brand but if its not constructive then its useless. I personally have spent 2 or 3 thousand on IH & did it based on their forum which had the why's & why not's right on the IH forum..this was fine by Giles & Haraki. IH without a doubt makes top notch product as well as some must haves & throw in GILES who I consider a great guy & you have a company I believe in. Of course if you don't want to spend $300-$400 on a product there is nothing wrong with that. I also think with some of these higher priced brands the value stays pretty steady & in some cases increases in value. Take the Mister Freedom Liberty CPO that retailed for around $400. That thing sells for $1000 when it pops up as does some of the RRL grail items. When I have the money I "INVEST" in nice pieces for future resale if I need some cash. Many people who buy these brands use them to barter in the denim community. Anyway thats my take

I do like the idea of bringing in the guys from IH if they wish to participate or even do some Q&A. I think it makes us all more knowledgeable about the brand and will perhaps get us to a level of appreciation that DirtyDenim has for them.
Completely agree with Old26. Let's see what can happen!

Well IH is known for their 21 oz denim which is the original soft heavies. They are maybe the toughest to fade out of any denim iv owned . They also have a beige weft which is pretty amazing when they do decide to. Iv owned the 25ozers which was serious & uncalled for as they were more of a novelty than something you could wear imo but still crazy. I stupidly had these hemmed at a local shop who cut the selvedge off & botched the hem to shit. I ended up distressing them myself with sand paper & never wore them again The 555 18oz jeans which I bought direct from Giles as they were the 1st sample pair. This denim is easier to fade The IH shirts are my favorite of what IH puts out & to me everyone should own one of their denim shirts. I love the length of their shirts as I dig that its right around 31in w/o those Gustin wings

Great pics Dirty. You are rubbing shoulders with some denim heavy weights.
I have IHSH-08ss 16oz Super Black Super Stealth shirt and Iron Heart/Self Edge SexIH07 jeans. I love them both. Yes Iron Heart is expensive. I was able to get these both used but like new for a good price. There are deals to be had but it can take a while. I do think it is great when I see someone on Iron Hearts board which I frequent who just purchased a new pair of jeans or a shirt. They post up pics and I know they aren't some rich dude. They are someone who has saved their money and now will feel like they are walking on air in their new denim.

Oh, I don't think it's bad to say "I can't justify spending $400 on XX jeans with my budget". But "XX rip people off with their markup" etc. is what we don't want. I would hope any vendor would want to hear honest, yet constructive points. I think we know the line, and if not, Mr Randal will make a guest appearance!

Let me just say the money I spent on IH was pre baby & would not spend what I did now. Like many of you I am on a budget & have to time my spending. Buying $400 jeans is not easy but when I can I will. At this time in my life (38 yrs married with a daughter) I will typically only buy an expensive item if its something I think is unique & is a must have. Iron Heart makes good shit but is not a company that is searching for fabrics that are dipped in this or woven by golden inch worms. Its a company that sticks with making sure the item is made well. With that said I am at a different time in my life & have to buy practical with an occasional must have item.

Kudos to you. Probably one of the hardest things on the planet to do, especially if most of the people you know do it as well. BTW, tell us about the footwear in that picture.

I read about the opinion about the price of IH here. I think there are two chains of thoughts. One will buy one or few grail items for a season and others just spread the money to buy multiple mid price items. It is almost like one 21oz IH jeans vs. 3 pair of different shade of Gustin Indigo jeans.

Yes its been about 22 months of no cigs. I ended up trying Chantex & using the E.cigs for a bit. The shoes are Mr. B's which is to Aldo what Wallace & Barnes is to JCrew. They are a pretty cool shoe I wear sparingly because I like em so much if that makes sense.
