I think the New Arrivals thread is somewhat being used in this manner, but I thought this might be a good thread for discussing Gustin New Releases to the store. May an admin strike me down if I'm wrong.

Selvedge Chinos in Khaki and Olive. I'd love to get some selvedge twill chinos but they may be priced a little bit beyond the value I see in them. Also, new style wallet dropped this morning. Really digging the moss red flannel, though I'm a little worried about how "christmassy" it will look as a full shirt.

Gustin have jumped the shark for me with unexciting items, uninspired designs, and items that are NOT cheaper than alternatives out there. Do some googling - I was looking at the leather NATO - I can get the same thing elsewhere by strap makers for the same price. I really am bummed at where Gustin have gone - and equally if not more excited to see how Lawless progresses.

definitely no longer a deal... 165 bucks for a pair of selvedge chinos. you're kidding me right? I will say this. Looks like I was wrong, the J Crew pair seems to go for around 288, and it's made in China. Selvedge chinos are not common, however this puts them squarely in competition with the N&F "chino" which is their jeans-cut in ducks and twills. It certainly makes the N&F more attractive once we're getting up to this price-point, though. Unless you hate Canada.

Couldn't help but back the Natural Indigo jeans, have been sitting on some store credit and this is the color I've been waiting for, can't speak for ole2-6 but I think that's pretty exciting

But there are two things I am a fiend for: Chinos, and Trucker Jackets. I'm excited to see some of the Trucker Jackets come out of Lawless. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, though. I probably should have during that half off sale but I just need to see the fit/construction on people who have taken the photos themselves.
I should say though, as a Chino lover, Gustin has been doing pretty well lately.

I should say though, as a Chino lover, Gustin has been doing pretty well lately. I've got so many green pants coming that I can't even consider the selvedge olive (really hope my Japan Olive jeans ship next week), but that khaki is really tempting. with the selvedge price, it probably would have pushed me over the edge on the Military Green chinos, but again, already have the japan olive denim, and military drab chinos coming from Lawless. As a chinos guy, how do you feel about the Lawless offerings? If you wanna have an in-depth conversation about them we could probably move this over to Lawless Land, but as a comparison to the Gustin offering I'm curious.

I'm not a fan, YET, of the Chinos Lawless has put forward. Essentially, they are chino cut denim, which is cool, but not quite my thing. For me Chinos are about the context you can wear them in, and the drape, which of course is, in part, a function of the material.
Like I said, I'm a stickler. For me one of the criteria for Chinos is that I have to be able to wear them with a casual sport coat, and I am not a denim/sportcoat guy (I think that look is actually really hard to pull off, even though everyone thinks they pull it off).
So until I see those Chinos is other materials, with photos, I can't really say. That brown cone mills fabric looks promising though.

Yup, very similar to the summer blues, but in a natural indigo...... that gets more saturated in color with wear? Sign me up

I think a bunch of us have the chinos coming in the military drab, but that's still a denim (just not traditional indigo). Once they start shipping I'm sure you'll see some pictures of them, though.

I also noted that about the NATO strap, and ended up ordering a custom made, as my citizen uses a 21mm band. Its been 2 weeks since ordering it, so I need to rattle the guys chain about getting my custom strap done, although at his Etsy site, it does say it takes a week, or two for stuff not ready to go in his store.

I agree that the Lawless chino so far is basically a different version of denim. If I'm going to denim, I prefer the tradition 5 pocket style. I will be very interested when Roman acquires some heavier twill, and duck materials to offer in the chinos.
