@scooter - thanks for posting the measurements. I'm sure they'll stretch out where you need them to over time with the exception of the hem

scooter do you think you should have gone 2105 instead (tight straight as opposed to the super tight straight 2109)? I think if they had come to the specs posted on SE, I don't believe this would be an issue. Whether SE is incorrect, or these just sewed up small, is the question. Thinking about them now, the specs seem odd, for both, particularly the cuff. They are big, even by IH standards.

I put the 2109 through another soak, tonight. As slim as the legs are, the waist, hip, and upper thigh had a little too much room. So, I gave the top block a 160° bath for a half hour. Then, I threw them in the dryer for another half hour. The results were good. Good thing, too. For a couple of days, it looked like I was wearing a codpiece.

SG2109 , 3 weeks , around 10 wears , baby comb fades..... I'll say it again, I love this denim. Only shame is, their evo will take some time. Adding the IH leftys and 3sixteen kibata to my rotation will definitely slow them down.

Dammit I need a pair of those. How are you liking the Kibata? I was initially planning on getting a pair, but was underwhelmed when I saw them in person, unwashed, they just didn't have as much texture as I expected.

I was initially planning on getting a pair, but was underwhelmed when I saw them in person, unwashed, they just didn't have as much texture as I expected. My first impressions of the Kibata were much the same. Underwhelmed. I think having the Kabuki will do that. Which, I know you can relate. Initially, I had concerns about the specs. But, after the adventure I had with 2109, I realized the Kibata would be just fine. I gave them a good bath temp soak for about an hour, toweled them, and hung to dry. No special steps. They came out crispy and rigid. They stood up on their own, until I turned them right side out. The texture did pop a bit, but it's still quite pedestrian, compared to the Oni. There is some hairiness to them, but nothing beastly. :/ The color is cool, though. It's a couple of shades lighter, and the weft show through gives them a nice brightness. They look excellent in natural light. The best thing is the fit. Hands down the best in my closet. Overall, they are not spectacular, but I love them. They are a great pair of everyday denim. I'm interested to see how they evolve. If the fades turn out well, they will certainly get an upgrade in status.

scooter do you have the kibata in the sl or st? With the knowledge of Gustin's Loomstate, and their propensity to have a slimmer leg than their sanforized counterparts, I nabbed the SL-100xk. I have the ST-120x, already, and I wouldn't want the cuff opening any smaller. My kibata wound up 8.25" on a size 36. Edit: 16.5" cuff opening is the sweet spot for me.

A package arrived today, incoming SG2109's straight from Japan. Delighted with these jeans, finally I managed a true slim fit out of Japan after fiascos with Samurai's 710s and PBJ's XX-007s allegedly "slim" cuts, those two models came out way fuller than expected. I could not be happier with Klax-On's service, I placed the order on Thurday night, Friday we arranged payment plus chain-stitch hemming, Saturday the pants were shipped and Tuesday evening the package arrived at my doorstep. As a bonus, Klax-on is an honest seller and does not charge sales tax for international orders. Communication with the seller was slower than I would have liked pre-order, but pretty fluent once my order was in. Purchased through Rakuten. I will let the pictures do the talking, pretty heavy duty denim, 17oz, a rough fabric, deep dark indigo, with beautiful details and stitching, I like the raised belt loops and the nice quality of the leather patch. The fit is spot on pre-soak so hopefully they do not shrink much. I confirm what I had read about this fit, its pretty snug around the thighs and knees, so be wary, may not be the right cut for everyone. My tag-size 31 measured 33" at the waist right out of the package. We are at 96 degrees here in Houston so I will have to postpone wear at least for a couple more months.

Man I find that Japanese slim fits (666-XHS and 710XX) are perfect for me. I'm not exactly small so it's nice seeing they can contain my large legs.
When I tried the 1109xx full counts they wouldn't even fit over my ass. Maybe the 1108xx will work.
Looking more at TSG those loop wheeled sweatshirts look amazing.

Purchased one and also one from Buzz Rickson to decide between the fit. I much preferred the Buzz Rickson fit. A little more length, a little more room in the body, some space for the inevitable shrink.

Holy shitballs. So I bought a pair OF SG 2109. Annnnnd...I can co-sign what @scooter says. The knees man...the kneeeees. I made the mistake of buying one wash instead of waiting for unwashed coming in. These are gonna be a beast to break in.
EDIT: AND DAMN, GINA...the rise is way smaller than advertised.

Maybe this latest batch sewed a bit tighter than it should? As scooter mentioned, I also found that in my pair all thigh, knee and hem measures were about 0.3" smaller than per the SE spec. So basically the pants came pre-wash where I would have hope them to be post-wash. However the waist is about an inch wider than expected. My tag-size 31 is now closer to 34" pre-wash just from trying them at home a couple times for less than 15 minutes each.

Yeah, when my waist stretches out, I'm going to just hot soak the waist portion.

Also, these jeans are so stiff, I don't know if I'll be wearing them in, or they'll be wearing ME in.

The good: Well I've worn them every day since I got them, and they are breaking in nicely and I love them. The bad: The interior leg stitch is already coming undone on both legs. Would that be a normal tailor type of thing, or a Railcar repair thing??

Did Wils/MiddleAge teach you nothing?! Tailors are clearly of the brimstone and hellfire variety. To Railcar (or AB Fits) with you!
