@scooter that's a nice collection. i absolutely love the look of the sg2109 denim, but the pocket stitching keeps me from picking them up.

Dammit scooter....I was able to refrain from buying these up to this point in my denim addicted life due to the back pocket stitching, but now you post all of these cool pics and then this last one....which you're right, for some reason it doesn't look that bad when they are faded. Looks like its probably these and the IH 633s 21oz on my list now

For what it's worth scooter I think you will be fine post soak. Relax, pour your bourbon, soak in the tub with those bad boys and leave it in the hands of the denim gods. But seriously I think you will be good to go and they should fit you fine. Well, after about 6 fingers of Buffalo Trace (my house brand), I jumped in the tub at around 1am central. I wore them for the first 15 minutes of the soak, until I was certain they were completely saturated, then turned them inside out for another 45. I pulled them out, sopped any excess water with some old flannel sheets I had lying around, and put them back on for the first couple of hours of drying. It's cool, feeling them shrink and mold to you. Finally, after another 2 fingers, I'd had enough. So, I hung them, and went to bed. They were definitely snug, all over, and I hoped I had done enough to keep them from shrinking further. They were still a little damp, when I got up. But, they slipped right on, like a second skin. I'd say, they are extremely slim, on me. I would advise anyone larger than me not to attempt. The knees are still snug, but actually got better, post-soak. They are REALLY stiff, and they are a bit rough on the backs of my knees. But, I'm thinking they'll be fine, as they soften up. When I saw the specs for these on SE, this was certainly not what I was expecting. But, at the moment, I'm good with the result. As slim as they are, I think the fades will be awesome. Only time will tell. I just wish they'd finish drying, already. To hell with it, I'm putting them on.

niiiiiiiice
i've got a few unsanforized pairs sitting out (strike gold being one) and i've been trying to figure out if i want to wear in the tub or plain soak in the tub.
i like your approach...some bourbon, some barry white, and a warm drawn bath sound like the way to go!

@david , ickes , I just read an article on reddit, about TSG. The back pocket stitching is done with 100% cotton thread. It is done intentionally, to give way after a few months wear.

Thanks jray. Great article that explains the brand and all of their fabrics and cuts. I love what these guys are doing and I definitely will be picking up a pair. They have some great fabrics but I"m not sure which one I will get...the 11xx, 21xx, and 31xx all look great. I'll probably rule out the 21xx because it is almost identical to the IH fabric I have...IndigoxGrey, left hand twill, Loomstate..only the Strike Gold is 17 oz as opposed to the Iron Hearts that are 20 oz. That sounds like a kick ass fabric though. Thanks again guys.

First, I can't believe none of you have mentioned that fancy gold ID (or if you have I was covering my eyes so that I could avoid $200 on jeans). Second, why does "selvedge ID" translate to "ear" from Japanese to English? Third, I hate you guys.

ickes - just my 2 cents - you have the beige wefts in the oni's but they're pretty light beige so the 2109's would still be much different. You have the IH's with the grey weft so the 3100 series wouldn't be that much different. You could always go for the 1100 series. All of the SG's are slubby and given what you just read, they're totally different jeans than anything else on the market - maybe closest to oni's. I just got the burgus plus with a dark beige weft and have a pair of soso's on the way in 21 Oz. Otherwise, I love those 2109's.

Can the forum adopt this as a mantra?
ONLY ONE MY JEANS rubbing beard to engraved to make the youth earned taking own life album, wrinkles, discoloration, and by aging, such as Jabra unawares produce anyone other than the wearer can not be completed.

I am so digging the color and feel of the 2109. There is only one drawback...they turned out so slim, the cuff opening is much smaller than I anticipated. Unfortunately, wearing boots is out. They look disproportionately big. One could say, like my avatar, Goofy.
I think I may have to cop a pair of 2105 to compensate.

@scooter - what are the measurements post soak?

@scooter - what are the measurements post soak? Size 36 Waist 18.5 F Rise 10.75 B Rise 14.75 Thigh 12.9 Knee 8.6 Cuff 8 Inseam 35.25 The waist snapped back immediately. Most likely, because I wore them wet, post-soak. It's a bit loose, as I'm a true 36. I will probably have the waist tailored. Size 35, if they produced one, would probably be close to perfect. Sizing down to 34 would be an even more scary proposition. Thigh, and rise wound up where I anticipated. All within .3"-.5" of pre-soak. Knee was tight pre-soak. Same 8.6. This was the biggest reason I wore them post-soak. Had I lost any more, there may have been circulatory issues. Cuff shrunk a ton. Easily an 1"- 1.25" around. It was 8.5" to start. From what I have read about the fit, they should taper just below the knee, down. I believe the length of my thighs may be part of the issue, as the taper seems to start just above my knee. But, the difference between knee and cuff, pre-soak, was barely an 1/8". So, I'm quite certain they were sewn small at the knees. Edit: As I think of it, the cuff spec was under by .4", to start with, as well. edit: One of these days, I'll try and post some fit pics.

scooter do you think you should have gone 2105 instead (tight straight as opposed to the super tight straight 2109)?
