I think I may take a flyer on one of the Slim Taper 2.0 pre-sale offers from Brave Star in a 14 oz+ denim. Hard to pass up for $75-89 and the construction seems to be on-point. I realize the "star" on the back pocket turns folks off, but is it really that different than a red sideways W on IH or other brand distinguishers that you can't see without a mirror?

From one of the reviews I read on the Selvedge Quality & Supply FB page, these jeans seem to be very well crafted. For the price, I'll take a chance and report back.

gaseousclay - in your post above talking about the claw stitch on the back pocket you said "in the end, if you ....." Now did you mean that as a pun?

For those that like a good pun now and then (like me), I appreciated it more that you didn't mean it

These are super comfortable.
Been fighting a pair of G's all day that have just been too tight and too short on the rise. These Cramerton Chino's fit like a glove right out of the box.
I'm gonna wash and wear for a little bit and see how the shrink goes before hemming. I have like a 2 fold hem on these where Id prefer a 1 fold, but I see these as informal chinos so I may not even bother.
If your on the fence, order. WOuld be nice to get some other colors.

This. just got these today. I agree they're super comfortable. The top block is very reasonable down to just below the knee and then there is a good taper to the cuff. Weight is good for spring/summer/fall. These are great chinos, especially for the price.

I reached out to Mik to inquire on any new drops coming soon, namely if he was going to do the Ironside jacket in the black/black denim. He confirmed, but for later summer drop (fall delivery). Given how well my Ironside in the Cone brown weft fits, I'm in for another one of these beauties.

I want to pre order but im between sizes.... cant decide to go 34 or 35 Consider that it's 100% cotton twill, so yes, you will have some shrink if that's something you're planning to try. I am in spec for the 31, but will probably opt for the 32, just so I can wash freely and not have to dry clean only to avoid shrink.

I am also between sizes and asked Mik what he would suggest. He advised me to size down. The fit is perfect for me, but I haven't washed them yet and probably won't for awhile. I usually wash stuff in cold and low dry, which is what I'll probably do with these. I've never really had too much of a problem with shrink on other twill chinos, hopefully this one will continue the trend.

Completely forgot about Brave Star. Jumped in on the Cramerton twill in the denim cut. As much as I love the chino cut, I have been wanting a pair of selvage khaki in the denim cut since G launched and cancelled their khaki selvedge twill. Perfect summer option that I don't have to wait until fall to have. Granted, fall in Arizona is still technically summer (by temp) everywhere else in the country.
Betweens the initial reviews on the Cramerton's and how happy I am with my Ironside jacket, I'm probably in for some jeans from these guys. Read some good reviews also on the Selvedge & Quality Supply FB group.

I have the tapered and I really want them to do the same cut in more colors and in denim. When you spoke to them, did you just send an email?

He said there will be a black denim option closer to the fall.

I didn't see any options for the slim taper in the Cramerton twill. I emailed him because I asked about the chain stitch hem service on these. So I am diving right in with these, hope they are true to the +/- 1/4" specs.

At the top of the site use the STORE navigation and choose " SELVEDGE CHINO" Check the specs vs. the slim straight. The taper is just right on these. bravestarselvage.com/products/the-tapered-selvage-chino

I really just wanted a pair of khaki jeans so my friends can always quote Deadpool whenever they see me ("He's got the right idea. He wore the brown pants."). The maturity of 40.

I'd consider it if offered.
