Comparing the two I like the fit, weight and drape of the 3sixteen better it is a flannel made for light winters like we have here in the PNW. The FNC is very light weight and is a just a little baggy feeling. It is not in any way meant for cold weather. Definitely a spring time shirt. That being said I like the details better than the 3sixteen. Cool, thick red buttons, smaller collar with a better shape, and I like the pocket flaps better.

the 3sixteen would be ideal since I live in Minnesota, but i'm always layering and could make the FNC work.

the weird thing about the Lancaster is that i've seen pics of the red plaid with red buttons and other pics with white buttons. I'm guessing the buttons are in fact red

They are red on the "red" color way. I'm not sure about the "white"

I just ordered my first pair of 3Sixteens - Shadow Selvedge ST-120x. Thought I'd get a thread going since one hasn't been started yet. Got these and another pair (will create a thread for those too) to try and get some electric blue fades going. Anyone have a pair of these? Looks like it's been about a year since you got the 120x's. Got any progress pics? I'm about 3 months into my pair and couldn't love them more.

the aqua black is really nice. gives a good pop of color to a black pair of jeans.

I have the same opinion about the crossed back yoke on their shirts. However, I finally got around to acquiring the shadow type III, and I love that detail about it.

I couldn't be happier, myself. Fortunately, they added the 3x size option, or I'd be sitting this one out.

I've got the SL-120X and i think I've worn them twice. I've now gravitated toward a slimmer fit since I've lost weight

I switched to the SL and couldn't be more stoked on the fit. For me they were a hair tight at first and I didn't think they'd work either but I stuck with them because I love the 120x fabric and thankfully now the waist is perfect and they've broken in so nicely.

I switched to the SL and couldn't be more stoked on the fit. For me they were a hair tight at first and I didn't think they'd work either but I stuck with them because I love the 120x fabric and thankfully now the waist is perfect and they've broken in so nicely. Sticking with them is the trick. My first pair were the ST-120x. The thighs were definitely tight, and the waist stretched an inch to 1.5" beyond perfect. I put about 80 wears(only nights and weekends) before the thighs finally softened and stretched to a comfortable point. I took it further, by putting another 20 wears, during the past winter, with thermal underwear underneath. They finally broke in, to the point I wanted, and the thighs are now perfect. The waist issue still remained, though. So, I had the waist taken in 1.5", this past summer. They fit is spot on, now. They've got a nice start, as far as fades go. But, I don't wear my better denim to work, and I have 6 pairs in rotation. So, they will take some time. I copped the SL-100xk in May. They are definitely a better fit for me, as well. The 2 of them are the lightest denims I have in rotation, and have been relegated to summer wear, which only serves to slow the evo even more. I've just had to take a turtle's approach to the race...slow and steady. I'm fine with that, though. They are built well enough to last. If I get some time, in the near future, I'll post a few fade shots.

Patience seems to be the key for sure. I was on the fence about them for the first month, but the more I wore them the more I liked them. A cold soak after about a month of frustration was the turning point where they just seemed to get a little easier to wear and loosen up a bit in the right spots.

ST-120x (16 months, 110 wears(approx), 2 tub washes) A bit disappointed about the combs and tracks. But, as I stated, they don't get much hard wear. Edit: 1st pic is most representative of color. Lighting washed the others out, a bit

I also measured and compared a couple of my shirts and decided the medium would work best. I plan on cold washing/hang drying. Oh, kylepa's measurements were helpful too. I would've preferred the red crosscut but I'm not complaining about the blue one

i think the tone of the blue makes the blue shaggy more unique than the red. not sure more stock of the red will hit again (they've already exhausted their second delivery) but i can't imagine it's gone already.

well, looks like i'll be returning my crosscut flannel in exchange for a larger size, assuming the store will let me. The shirt fits but I know it'll shrink down quite a bit after a wash and hang dry.
