ordered a pair of boots last night. i had been waffling about what i wanted since sending my aldens back a few months ago. was trying to decide between white's, nick's, and trumans. vince posted last night that he would no longer be doing made to order boots after mid-january...which pushed me over the edge to order. ended up ordering: black waxed flesh structured plain toe standard dainite sole the wait will be a bit rough...i should have ordered a month or so ago when the wait was still 6-8 wks vs the current 8-12 How did you size? Truman wants to put me in a 9e, but that's what I wear in sneakers. I'm an 8 in IRs, Danner etc I went in on a pair last night... Vince had me size up 1/2 size, over my OSB trenches. But I'm in the same boat as you, don't really know how it'll work out.

Trying to narrow down from Nick's, Thrux Lawrence, and Truman. The first two have items in stock. All hover around that magical $500 mark. No rush as I have no $500 today, but when the tax return comes - assuming I get some back - I'm going for a pair of one of these three... Which one did you order Marc ? Here's my list of contenders... NICKS THRUX-WHITES TRUMAN

Tough call. I go back and forth over and over. And for $500, I want to be happy...

Tough call. I go back and forth over and over. And for $500, I want to be happy... Well I was faced with the same decision and I went with custom Nicks vs. Trumans. Now that was because I was familiar with the Nicks last and they offered a C so I knew they would fit. I suppose a little bit of people claiming Nicks current production/construction has been slightly better than Whites influenced my decision. Just like today, I want badly to pull the trigger on a pair of Vibergs but I have never tried a pair on so I passed. The fit program via. Bakers is a very nice feature assuring you of a proper fit. /I do not work for them etc..

Just got a pair of these in Mohawk Snuff. Fantastic boots, I'm a 9 in iron rangers and a 9.5 in almost everything else, went with a 9.5 in Trumans. Hardest shoe I've ever gotten on, but once the feet were in they feel good, slightly tight in the upper foot but toes fit perfect. I probably could of gone 10 but these will break in. The Mohawk leather is awesome, a lot going on with the texture. Fully recommend them.

exophobe went with the dainite soles, they seem great. Also went with speed hooks, asked for nickel hardware but got brass, not a big deal I let Vince know though. The build quality is exceptional, I'll take some serious photos with my DSLR and share them this week.

@david I was originally part of a GTMO through reddit in August, the leather wasn't quite right so I switched to the Mohawk. So it was a long wait. Just took em off and put them back on again, a lot easier the second time.

devastitis Yeah that's the one. I could of tried a sample leather for 300ish, but I really like the Mohawk, and got a slight discount through the GMTO.

Debated if I should have gotten a 10 cause most my shoes are 10 and my wolverines were a 9 wide

drewcandraw The toe box seems fine, not too narrow. But the midsection is pretty narrow, I think that will break in though. If most of your shoes are 10 I'd go 10. I'm a 9.5 in Clarks, 10 in vans, 9.5 in allen edmonds.

Truman has a very limited MTO going on right now. Not completely customizable, but I think the options are enough for me.

I'm really thinking of going in on a 4 eyelet/3 speed hook, Java Waxed Flesh, Commando Sole making. Really don't need a dark brown boot, but it looks amazing.

Yeah I actually prefer the Java...but don't need another brown boot right now and could use a black pair. Plus the black waxed flesh looks pretty great beat up.
