Yeah I looked when I saw your post this morning. I'm debating giving the 31 a shot anyway since (if they hit spec) they should be right around a "small-side" Gustin 33. I think the taper is a bit too aggressive (though it's really not that aggressive) for me to size down, though. BOW has size 32 in stock on their site if that size works. The Indigo Copper is $110 but you get free shipping and free hemming, so I think it's still a good deal. Even though I paid $69 for mine I would still have to send them off to get hemmed which will run me another $30. Who's hemming your stuff, a patent lawyer? $7 gets mine done at my tailor and it's only $25 for Railcar to do it for my heavier pairs that my tailor won't touch. AB Fits is $15.

I recently sent my pair of Taylor Stitch selvedge to AB Fits to get hemmed/chainstitched and it cost me $9 to ship it there plus $15 for the chainstitch hem and another $10 to have it sent back to me. so it's actually $34. The one and only clothing store in town that offers chainstitching services charges $35 I believe.

Or I'll just have more jeans...

Took delivery of my indigo x copper twist weird guy fit and don't know what to think. I got the sizing down correctly but they do appear glittery to the eye. don't know how this would look out in the wild or if they'd look pretty stupid. think I might keep them since they were so cheap

Also, if the effect can be captured in pictures it'd be cool to see. With the Japan Shine I was sort of able to get it by taking a picture of the "bent" fabric.

Very good to know. I consulted BOW's size chart, and I should be good for both the Indigo Weird Guys (Size 34 runs 36" on the waist, and I am a true 36" at this point) and the Sumi Ink (Size 34 runs 35.5"...the stretch should account for the other half inch). So the 34" were good for the Weird Guys and the Copper. NOT OK for the Sumi, which seems to have been sewed up smaller than the 35.5" they claim since I am a measured 35" as of two days ago. The Sumis are going back unless I can get a purchaser.

I barely buttoned up the 34" weird guys and weird guy coppers, but they stretched to perfect very quickly. These are JUST a tad smaller than those two, but enough to be just too tight. I'd say between 35" and 35.5".

not just any jeans. Glittery, Twilight jeans This is what I was able to get out of the Japan Shine. Is it more pronounced than this?

Went back to Barney's and found the Copper Twist in stock in a 33 (was like 31 and 36 last time I looked), so I went ahead and ordered them. I have a problem, but I'm looking forward to comparing these to the Shine. Eventually someone will weave titanium into denim and call them Huayra. I'm starting to save money now.
...
Edit - it better have hardware machined from solid titanium. Each rivet will be $15.

I'm guessing someone purchased a pair and thought they were too glittery and returned them.

My weird guy fit stripper jeans arrived today, totally different effect than the Japan shine. These literally look like you were rolling around with a stripper all night. In your jeans. Well actually, they look like your jeans were rolling around with a stripper all night.
The effect is amazingly difficult to capture with a camera, but I'll put up some pics in a bit.

Naked and Famous Copper Twist Close, but the sheen on the indigo is a little bit disingenuous, the indigo looks pretty standard Depth of field seems to help a bit: But out of focus almost seems the best way to capture what these guys look like:

I forgot to talk about a couple things. So first, I'm a fan of the weird guy fit, as it works a little bit better for me than the Gustin slim. It's more of a slim straight where I find the Gustin is more of a slim taper with the taper continuing past the knee. The 33 is a little tiny bit big on me, so after cold wash (maybe warm depending on how adventurous I'm feeling) they should be just about right.
Compared to the Japan shine, it's a very different look. The copper twist is very definitely glittery looking, but I find the effect is far less noticeable in lower light, and not very distracting when wearing them, though bright lighting will remind you very quickly of your glitterpants. The Japan shine is more consistently reflective and in some ways more subtle. Neither one is ever going to be subtle enough to keep people from noticing, though.
I haven't seen what happens to the reflective poly-blend of the Japan shine (I think I'm remembering that right) after washing, but it will be interesting to see how both of these develop (if I can ever get enough wear in them, anyway) and the difference in how the two age.. N&f indicates that the copper becomes more prevalent as they develop, and I haven't seen any pictures of the shine since they first shipped, other than my own -- I want to think it would fade, but poly never really fades, especially in a cold wash, so it would depend on what makes it reflective and whether that sticks to the yarn through washing.

In any case, I wouldn't wear these around hot wires, what with the conductivity of copper and all.
