So in 2 1/2 months I'll be done my 90 day no spend. And Fall will soon follow. So I'm starting my Hunt for the Perfect Denim Shirt and want your input. I'm thinking something Indigo (maybe IxI), something that will look good with some indigo denim jeans, something not to heavy, good construction, etc Whats your thoughts on what you have or what you'd look for. Price is no object (It really is but for the fun of it let's say it's not

@ DigDug, my faves are Iron Heart and Indigofera. First priority: quality...this will pay dividends on all fronts & yes, I agree, if poss, price shouldn't be a deciding factor - quality will give more pleasure/satisfaction from first wear and durability will guarantee better value in the long run. My fave workshirts are those which are worn-in/evo'ed and most lesser qual shirts have less endurance at that stage.

Dammit, between that and the 113, I'm finally going to come around on IH. Plus it's nice to see Giles wear a shirt that actually fits for once.

Not a fan of a western shirt or snaps. They look nice on other guys but not for me living here in the North East.

as much as i love RgT, i'd not recommend them for what DigDug's asking for because their shirts are all a slimmer fit and not meant to be worn as a true workshirt. there's always the option to size up if you can to wear it as a true overshirt but that's not the intention. with that said, if this was a style request, i'd recommend the ISC shirt (canvas not denim) over the western though for what he's going for: i love mine but the shoulders are a bit constricting.

oh - and there's the uneven pockets that some folks steer clear of though they're not uneven in real life for some reason.

Western Shirts are out, No Snaps, and I want to stick to a Denim shirt. What have you found works best for a Canadian Tux? I'm thinking an IxI would contrast just enough with a pair of jeans (with a white weft). What about weight? 12oz seem right?

So I've been taking a passive look for a Indigo Denim WS (dam @devastits and his 90 day no spend). And this is what I'll be looking for. You would think it would be easy to find, just a strait up WS. But everyone seems to be putting some twist (snaps, western, different shaped pockets, etc). www.ironheart.co.uk/extinct/ihsh-53.html

I'm usually looking for shirts like that to have snaps, so I can't remember all the shirts I've seen over there that didn't have them. I think Japanese brands (though mr freedom is not) might be your best bet for that aesthetic.

Just beware that most Japanese brands have tiny little sleeves. Finding a 36" sleeve or longer (simce they tend to shrink) usually requires a 48+ chest and 18+ neck. Not exactly ideal.

I think the sleeves will be fine (I mostly cuff anyway). It's finding a chest size that fits. I need a 46-48 ptp Those Japaneseguys are small.

IH is probably going to be your drug of choice here for that size. Probably the best quality you'd find so it's a win-win.
