On a pair of jeans that I wear frequently, I will keep the belt on it and not swap it around. So when I put my favorite belt on my new RailCars I was faced with this most perplexing question (never had a pair of jeans like this).

I love the Railcar patch. They are one of the few companies that do it right. Definitely under.

I don't think I'll ever be able to pony up enough for a pair of Railcars, but I'll own a pair of Railcars before I ever own a pair of IHUKs,

I don't like the belt under the patch look, have never been able to figure out why I dislike it so much, though. I've also been wearing my Gustin heavy belts pretty much exclusively, and those sort of seem like they'll rip the patches off.

That's whats kind of cool about these RailCars, you can wear it over but the Brand isn't covered over (like I don't really care, but I do a little:)

I do like under the patch. I wish all selvedge denim brands would keep the leather patch end open and big enough for this. Yes it does show off a little but so is showing the cuff selvedge line etc.

My Railcars are the only pair I have where I specifically run the belt under/through the patch. On all my other pairs that allow the belt to pass through, it's usually completely random and whatever I feel like on the day.
As others have mentioned, the Railcar patch is one of the very best out there and, I think, deserves to be exposed.

When I see the "belt under the patch" look it reminds me of how I wore jeans as a kid. I guess that's why I don't like it - makes me think of cheap denim.

But for me, it's a fond memory. When I got taller - which was like every week - Mom would take the bottoms off of an older pair and "lengthen" them accordingly. Dad was in grad-school and we didn't have much, so that was that. And when the knees got holes, she ironed-on those stiff as f*ck patches until I could not bend my damn knees. LOL, funny stuff.

When it was announced that the day was photo day, I would just swap shirts with a friend for the photo and then swap back after.

Iron on patches were the best. It was actually a point of pride to have worn a hole in the jeans that needed to be patched. When I wore thru the patches, it was usually game over for the jeans because the 2nd patch never would stick to the 1st one very well. My mom used to say that I was in high school before I actually outgrew a pair of jeans rather than wore them out. I know I wore Wranglers and Lee a lot as a kid - I'm not sure if I had Toughskins.
