Its so beautiful. I need this but i need a 45" chest after wash and dry (could squeeze a 44,5) so it looks like i would need a size 48. It looks possible to order on rakuten.
I also need the w-pockets on this bc i just dont like the slanted model on tfh so the other one wont work.
I do not like the IH backyoke at all so thats not an option. Are there any others that compare to this one?

I dont really like Levis, but do you know a place to get it? I don't really like Levis either, but I DO like LVC items made with raw/dry/rigid denim and made in the USA: global.rakuten.com/en/store/threelove/item/lv-303-0001/LVC bases their designs on historical pieces from Levi's, and after all, that's where it all started. This is 9 oz. Cone Denim, milled in the USA and the shirt manufactured in the USA. So unless it's the design of the shirt (how can you not love the sawtooth design), or the price (steep!), this is a quality piece that bears no relation to the mass-manufactured stuff from the main Levi's line.

I basically only wore Levis and Lee when i was younger so I kinda like to be able to get other items now. It does look good, but arms is way to puffy and i do not like cone. But we have a huge Levis store here and i saw they just aded some sawtooth red flannels....maybe they have denimshirts also...Im gonna see.

Are there any others that compare to this one? The 7002 won't work for you? If I can get a size 48 it should be actual 45-46" P2P and would be amazing! If its 45 then ill just cold wash it and if its 46 then Ill hotsoak it. There is a button to "order" it on a shop on rakuten but I dont know how long it would take so I have to ask him but I have also tried to search for other places to get it. The 46 is 44" P2P and might work if it actually does stretch but its still gonna be on the edge so I`d rather try and find a 48. I have a heavy-ish shirt that is on the verge and that one is 44,2" now but thats after wash. It does however matter how good the fit is since my actual chest is 39,5" and 40" inhaled. I just have broad shoulders so if its tight in the chest its usually also a little too tight in the shoulders and it feels claustrophobic. Your shirt was 38" right? What is your actual chest?

Actual is about 37" and the shirt is 38" It is a slim fit which I like and doesn't feel claustrophobic at all. I haven't been wearing it much since it is summer but I can tell it feels nice. The shirt does seem to have a nice shoulder width to chest ratio as I have mentioned before. It is slim in the waist also so would not be a good shirt for excess belly. It definitely won't shrink anymore as I give it a warm wash and dry and it stayed the same except for a hair shorter. Was trying to shrink length an inch or so.

Sounds good. One option if the 48 isnt even made is to slim down some. I have gone down a great deal but the chest measure seems to be the same but as you say the belly also is a factor.
I probably should just get the 7001 or the IH shirt but I kinda hate the look of the flaps on the 7001, I know they are authentic but something about them makes them look modern to me......the denim also doesnt look to be the same...they got my size tho...The IH one i do not like the black buttons and I do not like the yoke, but the fabric turns very beautiful so is still an option should all else fail!

Hey man, just letting you know that you can get the buttons switched out for $20 from IHUK. So if you buy it off Rakuten, you could still just send it to IHUK and get the buttons swapped. If you buy it off IHUK, you can ask them at the time of purchase to swap them and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts they might not charge you extra for it. If you feel like paying that IHUK premium. EDIT: Oh, maybe they will make you pay even if you buy from them. Just buy from Rakuten and send to them to pimp your snaps: www.ironheart.co.uk/shirting/ih-snap-up.html

Anyway, it's an extra $15 per shirt to swap buttons (the last time I checked) if you buy it from IH UK.

Good idea. But how hard could it be to change it at home? If your allowed to buy loose that is.

Bummer news direct from The Flat Head. They don't plan on making the 7002 again until next summer, and especially not in sizes over 44 (which equates to a US size VERY small/slim medium). I was hoping to grab a 46 or 48 in this model and compare it with the 7001 and keep whichever I liked best. Bummer.

Ok so then the only real choice is the 7001 wich will also age beautifully offcourse i just got to get used to the flaps but i think i could do that after they soften up.
So where is the best place to get it now?
I also need a flathead type2 since an unknown maker is not making mine it seems. Anyone know where to get this? Rivetandhide?

Winterland do you know where to get the type-two from a cheaper place like rakuten/denimio? In a Gustin size large.

Thanks to davito I am absolutely convinced that I need a pair of Flat Head 3009's in my life now. Those things look great. They are only 14oz which is as light as I will go but they're unsanforized so maybe 15oz post soak? FML...I really need to stay away from this thread. I had my whole clothing budget planned out for fall/winter 2014/15 based on the upcoming IH shirt releases, and now this gets thrown in and upsets the whole balance. First world problems. Ok...I'm just rambling and thinking out loud. Sorry for hihacking the thread. Carry on with your convo about the crazy sawtooth pocket shirt thingy

Misunderstanding! Im asking for the Type-II jacket. The sawtooth I had to give up since its not available in my size, i will just get the 7001 instead but neeeeds a flathead jacket aswell...I really do need it its not fooling or anything, i have a strong need for a new type-2 and I want TFH one. Im so lucky, its like i *have* to do this purshase...its really out of my control. I have searched rakuten for it but can only find small sizes. Its this one I just have to buy (gun to my head): www.selfedge.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=392

Carry on with your convo about the crazy sawtooth pocket shirt thingy Ickes unsanforised 14.5 oz FH pioneer denim will be around 15.5oz post-soak. The denim shrinks quite a bit even after some washes depends how you treat ya jeans. Vertical falling on FH is insane.
