jray, actually if you take a look at the Japan Dusts up on the Gustin site right now I would say that the weft on those is damn near identical in color to the wefts on the Oni Beige Wefts. www.weargustin.com/store/1699

ickes - another pair to look at and probably for another thread, but I can't stop looking at the strike gold 2109's. Similar fit to the oni 517 but with a darker beige weft and some cool details. Still waiting to hear from a rakuten shop if they can get my size.

Beautiful fade pics jray. I just started wearing my 288ZR a week ago and I'm already starting to see baby fades. Fit wise these are the best denim I own and being loosely knit, breathes really well. I might be able to pull them off through the summer. |

My Onis and IHs were ready for a soak.  Left - Oni 527ZR 20oz second soak. They are starting to show fades just started looking dingy. Right - IH-666 XHS 25oz first soak. These had softened up well enough to wear all day in comfort. Started showing some fades. Neither of these released much indigo. Nothing like my Gustin HA. |

Looks like your Oni have a similar amount of windup in the left leg as my 575's.

Looks like your Oni have a similar amount of windup in the left leg as my 575's. Funny, I've got about an inch, or so, of forward leg twist in the left leg of my 575s, as well. |

That is odd. This soak did increase it a little. I bought some LVC pre wash from Sal and those have skew built in to the left leg. |

Leg twist is part of the journey I understand leg twist but I do not enjoy it. I bought and Iron Heart overdyed Type III and the left arm has a twist towards the cuff. The dyeing process is a hot bath that puts a lot of shrinkage in the fabric. It bugs me greatly every time I see it. I would rather have it symmetrical and straight as an arrow. |

I just picked up the ONI 517xxbe from rodeo bros got here in less than a week. They shipped immediately. Problem is I sized wrong now I'm stuck with the pair I need to be rid of to order the correct size of 34.
Anyone interested just go on eBay & search ONI denim I'm the only one selling a pair lol. They are unworn still tags on just could button them way to snug. Size 33 they are marvelous texture & secret denim also xx @16.5 oz.slight beige weight

Similar price I think. zoomies were about 175 after tax and shipping, secrets were about 175 before shipping from rakuten when they were available.

It's hands down the best fabric I own. It starts off being rough and neppy and eventually becomes smooth with consistent wear. Onis are lacking a few details like selvedge fly, lined rear pockets and tucked in belt loops but for me, the fabric makes up for it. G Zim loomies, from the looks of it, seems quite different from Oni's. If you have to pick one, I'd say go for Oni. I'm keeping both  |

Worth noting that Denimio has both 14oz and 16.5oz Oni in non washed and once washed in every size. 14oz - $160 and 16.5oz - $177.
Rakuten only has the 14's in once washed, thinking of getting on this tub silliness.
