Or just 'with J Crew, Alex Mill and others bringing more production into the US, would you say your timing is just bad or you're totally deaf to the market?' What else did JCREW do besides the t shirts sewn in LA? Polos were just added. The bigger momentum I've seen with J Crew is less China and more Mauritius, India and other less repressive countries. The MiUSA is cool though, bought a few of the t's and they're good, even though they're not tubular.

I've been quietly coveting an Indigo Star, for a couple of years. With the 20% off, I'm considering it again.
The whole MiC situation has me torn, though.
The Indigo Star is still MiUSA, and I continued to buy their MiUSA products from them after they started producing product in Portugal. Am I being hypocritical ?

You want it, you will like it, and it is MiUSA. I like the MiUSA thing too, but FFS, Ford is moving Focus production to China and even my 6 year old has been walking around saying "everything is made in China" (Because he has been reading tags on various items for whatever reason). Frick it.

I took advantage of the 20% off sale to buy the army green oxford. I could swear when I looked at this shirt online two days ago it was made in California. I bought it and then looked at the description and it's now made in Portugal. However...the pic online has a tag that clearly says made in California AND every other jack oxford they make is listed as made in California. What are the odds that TS screwed up the online description versus the odds that they're using an old pic and for some reason have outsourced this one jack oxford to Portugal? I guess I'll just have to wait and see until it's delivered. I'll probably return it if it's from Portugal.

I think the brushed ones are Portugal and the regular are CA. At least they were.

I think the brushed ones are Portugal and the regular are CA. At least they were. Is there something to indicate that the army green is brushed and the other OCBDs are not? Just the appearance of the fabric? I still haven't received the shirt, but I'm starting to think I'll just keep it. There are worse things in the world than owing a shirt made in Portugal. At least its not made in China or Bangladesh. At this point I'd say >80% of all the clothes I own are MiUSA. I think I can give this one a pass. Also, I really like the color and haven't seen a lot of similar options MiUSA. Gitman has one sorta similar but its $160 and I've found their fit to be boxy on me in the past. I had been thinking about the wine oxford from Ratio, but I don't think shades of red/wine/deep purple look very good on me. I have a red chambray that is all right, but doesn't get the wear it deserves. Greens, blues and greys seem to be in my wheelhouse. There you go bentin . All kinds of justification for keeping a MiP shirt. Suck it.

The Indigo Star is still MiUSA, and I continued to buy their MiUSA products from them after they started producing product in Portugal. Am I being hypocritical ? Yeah, the indigo star is pretty great. I got one recently and like it a lot. Sorta heavy fabric though, so I haven't been wearing it much in the summer. Looking forward to wearing a lot when it cools off a bit. See my post above for thoughts on MiUSA vs. Portugal. It's hard to be an absolutist about anything, clothing in particular. The fact that you even give two craps about where your clothes are made puts you in the 99th percentile of informed/concerned consumers. Ultimately its what you are comfortable with, but personally I think its OK.

Looks like the end of the "Collection's" way of releasing workshop items and back to an item being released every Thursday. Better this way I think

Should I buy a shirt now? Or wait for a possible Black Friday sale?

i would just wait till black Friday. This is kind of that time of the year, in limbo, where everything you want will probably go on sale if you wait a few more weeks.

Oh man. After looking for days at sale stuff and finding nothing I caved to thier 30percent off and credit thing.
I bought a pair of swim trunks for 27 bucks and the new moto rust/gray shirt for 75 bucks and acquired a 20 dollar credit for future purchases.
Difficulty level: TS actually fits me AND I love the colorway and weave of the fabric.
So sick of boring fabrics and shirts I can't fit into. So there ya go!

I get the e-mail today about the new California shirt, proudly made in China. So while I was checking this, I took the time to randomly click on a few other of their samples to see that most everything else, if not all is made their also. I am pretty sure I unsubscribed from them a while back also. So so sad. Just picked up one of the new heavy weight Pistol Lake sweatshirts that was told are 21oz. Got a note from the CEO that said he was very thankful for me giving them a shot, and although it is a challenge to produce here in the states, it is their mission, and close to their hearts. I give them a tip of the hat!!!!

Basically done with TS. Broke down and ordered the Mendochino Peacoat and was highly underwhelmed quickly returned it.
The chinos democratic fit were my favorite and stocked up while on clearance to make way for the stretch made in china crap.
