I would love if people who wear Gustin/LD could help sizing Cf based on this.
For example: x Wears 34 Gustin slim, 35 LD slim straight x Cf duck 12oz 32 slim fits about same in topblock, slimmer in legs.
Anyone.?

I noticed the 901 slim fit for Ciano size 35 fit more slim than a 36slim Gustin. The rear rise was way too low for me. Ad the lower thigh was quite tight on me.
36slim Gustin 36 straight Lawless 34 905 Ciano with a slimmed down lower leg to 8.5"

OK, so all of my G jeans to date have been 35 straight. I chose the 905 fit from Ciano with a tag size of 34. It worked out.

I didn't measure everything before and after wash. In retrospect, I probably should have. Oh well. I opted for a 32 inseam, since he cuts it long to accommodate shrink (with the size you select being what it will shrink to), and it was just a touch too short for my taste -- not Dilbertian, but I should have done a 33 or 32.5 or something. I went for the 33 for the ducks.

He adds 1 inch to the waist to accommodate shrinkage, which the other makers don't do. Are you finding your CF jeans shrinking more than the other makers?

Im thinking about taking the plunge for the I x I but concerned about low rises on the CF models. Anyone have any comment on the rise in 35-36 straight...i really need at least a 12"
thanks

Shoot an email to Ciano with your concerns. They can possibly make adjustments to come up with something that works for you. ciano@cianofarmer.com

Ciano's fit guide has pre- and post-wash waist sizes, does anyone know if the rest of the measurements are pre or post? As a G 40 slim, I land around CF's 38 901. Standard sizing up or down is not an option for me; thinking I might have to ask for a custom fit.

When sizing to equivalent Gustin waist measurement, I find the Ciano slim to be closer to a Levi's 511 than a gustin slim (which is mentioned on the Ciano site), so you might find it a little skinnier than you're expecting. If you know the measurements you need, I'd just give him those and say that's what you're looking for.

CF's slim fit looks a little wider and straighter than Gustin's slim (which is what I want), but I can't tell if those measurements are pre- or post-shrink. I don't want anything slimmer than Gustin's slim fit.

He replied that the waist sizes are pre-wash measurements (which I knew), but I really want to know what to expect from the other measurements. That said, he told me he'd be happy to copy the Gustin fit if I sent him the measurements. I was just hoping his 901 would be fine off the shelf instead of him making something custom. I think I'm just going to order custom so I can dial them in even better than my Gustin's fit.

If you order the same waist size, they probably fit about the same, but the waist will be looser.

When you say "equivalent waist size," you mean actual waist measurement, right?

Okay, this is good to know. When you say "equivalent waist size," you mean actual waist measurement, right? Correct. The equivalent to a Gustin 33 slim being the Ciano 32 slim, as it has the most similar measurements.

Is anyone seeing shrinkage in duck? I'm not used to seeing much if any waist shrink with duck canvas, so thinking of ordering TTS and not an inch over, like the Ciano fit guide recommends. Will this lead to tears?

I'm afraid to wash mine, but I might have to. For Science. Yes, please! Pre and post measurements would be greatly appreciated. My pair of 12oz lost an inch, in both waist, and inseam with hot wash, and dry. 18oz lost 1/2 inch in waist, and inseam, with cold wash, and hang dry.

Got my Ciano jeans today and they are way too small. 32 G 30 Ciano. Looking at the fit guide online it seemed 30 would be the right fit. I must not be measuring correctly. Do G and Ciano measure differently?
Anyway, since he is the man, Ciano is remaking me some jeans in a bigger size.
Based on this thread it seems I should go for a 32 in Ciano, but that would be a 35 inch waist pre shrink and my true waist is only 33.25

Too small all around, or just the waist? What did the waist measure out as?
