"This one-of-a-kind 24 oz. denim will be available for pre-sale for a brief time only in a limited quantity. Once this item has sold out it will no longer be offered and the unique characteristics of this particular denim will be retired and vaulted by American Selvedge Co."
At first I was quite puzzled by this statement on their website (if you manage to create some great fabric, why would you not want to reproduce it in future?) My best guess would be trial and erroring. I therefore wouldn't even be surprised if backer A would get trouser with different fabric than backer B .... at best buyers would be paying to be guinea pigs, at worst they would get scrap which has been culled ....
Of course I am just speculating here with absolutely no proof or the like at hand ....

I don't think they quite know how to use their looms, and their consistency in lots of areas has been suspect. How would we expect this to be any different? They even call this out on their own, it will be a wild ride!

At $80 ($157 - 50% off) I can see why many are drawn in. Its a good risk. And besides a possible great pair of jeans they/ you get a whole lot of drama. 6 months + or - of speculation, debate, intrigue.... For some that can be fun others not. If these jeans come out epic those who took the risk will have the bragging rights, those of us who aren't in for this adventure will be $80 richer and will remind you for many years of your folly.

eli_negro Is @americanselvedge Roman's new project or something? What about all the orders from November? ldandco @eli_negro they are in production. eli_negro Why the wide range of uncertainty? Haven't you guys made an initial run of the fabric yet? ldandco @eli_negro if you're interested in Interviewing Roman about the details about this collaboration you welcome to call, 602-753-3940. Thank you! This interaction on Instagram speaks volumes! That's me. So if you want to follow me hit that follow button. I don't post anything denim related Did you not find it odd that he didn't just answer the questions? The term interview is strange, like he thought you were in the media. On that point, I hope one of the better known fashion bloggers calls him to task on these issues.

They are like teenagers, lots of talk, not as much walk. Pretty smartassed response from them. I am interested in this Supima heavy denim enough to throw my 78 dollars into the hat. As wdw said, it will be quite a 6 (or more) month ride.

I've been really quiet on this subject (wait times), because becoming an active complainer will only serve to stress me out. I have a shitton of jeans and I really don't need the ones I ordered for me, but I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET THE JEANS I ORDERED FOR MY WIFE.
Anyhow, what pisses me off is that we're all here waiting for our orders--some patiently, some not--and they are out goofing around with a loom trying to make denim.
For the love of god people, please finish one project before you start another one.

Yea, one would think that they would be putting all efforts into just getting their production in line, and cutting the wait times for people. This will do nothing other than slow things down even more so.

'Ukrainian Training Systems is proud to announce their partnership between Soviet Diet Systems and Buckwheat® Grains to bring you the United State’s first Ukrainian made, healthy, hearty Organic Training Feed - Elite Performance Supplements.' Order now and receive your supplements in 8-10 weeks. Or the two weeks after that. Or maybe the two months after that. At which point we'll be sure to let you know that we're now making our own special recipe steroids. But you can't have it for another 6 months and if you order our special Large bulk pack we'll ship it in our Mega-Large pack bottle for no better reason that we're unlikely to plan ahead properly despite having half a year to have done so. UTS & SGS - Putting Soviet/Balkans back to work.

So far, $300 has gotten me a front row seat to a very slow and deliberate train wreck.

This has pushed me right off the edge. I wanted to believe the best but have only seen it get worse. I just want off the train, its wasted energy. I messaged LD - either send my shit or give my money back. I'm done! Now I'm picturing myself in a happy place!

So, if I remember correctly, the 16oz sale campaign said (well, IG) that they would be produced in the new LA facility. I'm guessing that these may be as well.
With that in mind, and knowing their issues with tracking orders in just one facility, how are they going to keep orders straight and send them to the correct location when the orders are placed on the website? I don't have much faith in the human element right now, and despite Sal's earlier enthusiasm for the online ordering system, I don't see the tracking aspects being utilized efficiently (or, at all).
So, how much of a train wreck are we likely to see once the new facility goes online and these (and the 16oz) end up in the pipeline?

Maybe Roman is a jeanius who knows. I just wish they would finish my shirt from 11/2/14 #152. Finished my old site shirt, too tight but still. Finished the jeans from order #152 but nothing about the 95oz chambray CPO shirt.

I wonder if LD took away my KS discount after asking for a refund (still in the waiting phase) for my KS order because they're coming up as full price for me.

Brahs it's motorcycle safety wear.
