i know at least a few guys on here used to, or still do skateboard. i came across some old video footage of me skateboarding and made a handful into animated gifs and tossed them into an album. nothing astonishing...probably from around '92-93...but i was glad to stumble across them nonetheless. ah yes, the good old days. I used to skate back in the mid 80's, early 90's but gave it up. I sucked at it but it was fun while it lasted. I was a huge fan of Powell & Peralta and Santa Cruz back then. Still wish I had my old Tommy Guerrero skateboard. I'm also a fan of old skateboard graphics from that era, most notably, the Mark Gonzales face graphic as well as the works of Jim Phillips.

thanks guys...i still pull the board out about once a year to see if i can still land a kick or heel flip. seems like each year it takes a few minutes longer to land...but once i do my thought is always 'this is great...i should do this regularly'...then after a few more horribly sloppy attempts the board always bashes me in the shin and goes right back into storage. modslife such fun tricks. not necessarily the best we were doing at the time, but definitely some of the most satisfying. gaseousclay that was a big time for those brands for sure. if only i had the foresight (and money) at the time to buy a few extra decks to have on hand now.

I have a Powell Peralta Bones Brigade Tony Hawk Skull deck still in the plastic wrapping. Problem is its cracked right down the middle . Still cool though. I had my Vision Gator too up until a few years ago. That was my daily rider in my 7th and 8th grade years.

My good skate years were solidly in the VHS era. Any video would show some skate rats hitting empty pools, large drainage ditches and backyard ramps as well as doing other stuff that I don't want to have to explain since I have kids now . When they built the AZ 51 route in the late 1980's, hundreds of homes were purchased by the state and abandoned for destruction/construction. Many had backyard pools. For a while, there were more pools than skaters and more importantly, more pools than the police could patrol. Good times.
