Hey guys,
Does anyone here own any A.P.C. Petit Standards? I am trying to figure out my G size. I measure my waist at around 33.5", but most of my jeans measure about 16-16.25" across (fit loose).
Based on Gustin's size chart, I should order a 32 or maybe a 33.
What confuses me is I wear a size 30 in APC, which they say measures to about 31.25 inches.
So many different sizes and ways to measure.
So, does anyone own APC that can shed light on how their APC size compares to G?
I ordered a 31 slim in the Japan 185, and haven't received them yet. I'm worried they are going to be too small.
Thanks.

I don't have direct experience with APC but I've heard they vanity size quite a lot. You should trust the size guide and size up on the gustins.

I tried on a few APC pairs and would say a 31 in the APC new standard is about like a 33 slim Gustin.

APC are vanity sized plus their denim stretches very quickly and very easily.
My tagged 33W APCs are impossible for me to wear without a belt while my Gustin 33W are all a good fit after some extended stretching out (albeit 80% of them came in too small in the waist).
I'd expect APC to run around 2 to 3" larger than Gustin in the waist after four or five wears. If APC's 30W fits you well, I'd go with 32" in Gustin - assuming they've sorted out their sizing issues and stuff's coming out within spec these days.
All of the above also depends on how often (if at all) you wash your jeans. I can't risk washing any of my Gustin pairs because I don't want to have to stretch them all out again, whereas with APC the stretching process is so easy and fast that it makes little difference.

Took my tape measure to the store to try on different pants today. I tried on the APC Petit New Standard's in a size 30. They measured about 31.75" in the waist. I could button them up all the way, but they were fairly tight. I also wore some chinos that measured at a 31.25" waist and I could button those all the way up too. This gives me hope that my 31 slims will work nicely, except that they are the Japan 185 17oz and breaking them in will be a bitch. Haha.

Measure your waist... then account for an inch of stretch...buy accordingly...
