Been looking at samurai denim lately looking to get the s710xx 19oz loomstate denim in size 36.
I know the 510 are the most popular in japan but are more like a 501 levis cut. Anyone have experience with the company?

jeffrx those look awesome. How long have you had them and what did you see for shrinkage? Thanks, got them at Blue In Green in NY last winter. Probably worn about 100 times. The initial soak shrunk them maybe 5%, but the waist bounced back to where I need it. I actually thought they would shrink more than they did. The guy in the store advised me perfectly. He asked me if I could button a 36, which I could. He them told me to get the 38, which would fit like the 36 once the soak was done but it would stretch a little to make them a bit more comfy. The guy knew his Samurai fits. I'm sure I overpaid compared to what could be had straight from Japan, but it was cool to hit up that shop anyway.

Yeah they are $217 plus shipping from japan. April I'll cop a pair and some 666-XHS iron hearts.

I was in NY today and stopped in Blue In Green. I pulled the trigger on a pair of the 15 oz selvedge Chinos. Giving them a hot soak to try to shrink them a touch. These are some serious Chinos. Different from the norm by a long shot.

Here are some pics of the Samurai 15oz Heavyweight Chinos. These are meant to be worn with the wrinkled look. I think these will pair nicely with some of the Gustin and Lawless workshirts. The waist runs a little small on these, so I sized up. The 40 fits like a 38. The Blue In Green size chart is more accurate than the Rakuten size charts. I feel like this purchase pretty much completes my current wardrobe for a while. Nice photos. The fabric in the pictures look more like denim in Khaki color than the typical chino fabric. Is it the case? The reason I ask because it will give me some ideas when I order chino from either LD or Ciano.

It is 100% cotton, but it feels more like a heavy duck canvas ( which it is not ). Actually, it does seem like a heavy canvas now that I think about it. It's quite unique. That wrinkled look is what sets this apart in my opinion. All respect to Lawless, but I'm not sure they could do this. I should not say that, if they had the fabric, they could do it.

I've never seen the Japan Taupe in person, so I can't say for sure. I don't think it has the same texture based on the pics I have seen.

The ID is not the same but the texture in the picture looks similar. I was thinking Japan Umber when I first saw the photos but the ID is not the same either.

I really like the look of your chino very much. The price is just a bit out of my budget now and was just thinking about alternative. Thanks for the info.

Wow. Received my 710XX 19oz size 36.
They were once cold soaked but no signs of real wear. Seller didn't fit I guess.
They did not get all the shrink out yet. They did get some which is perfect.
19oz doesn't feel that heavy. They are not super startchy like a lot of Gustin's are. I received these and lawless on the same day. It seems samurai isn't as concerned with the little odds and ends like these new american companies are. No lined pockets, patch isn't thick rawhide. Belt loops are not tucked into the waist band and they are much wider. Not all flat felled seams. Fuzzy denim is cool and these apparently are a super fast fader. Might have to put the zimbs on hold.
That being said 19oz feels amazing like a perfect weight really feels lighter than that.

Full day of wear today. 19oz Sammy isn't that heavy at all. They are very warm. The hand feel is addictive. I can't stop touching them and my gf likes the feel too.
These are def a winner. Much different than any Gustin fabric that I own. Awesome man just awesome.

Brentkuz - how did you choose the waist size? Did you size up from the size you want them to be at after a soak? I need a 34 inch waist after soak which is a pre-soak size 33 in these. Do I choose the 33 or go up one size or more. How did you choose?

Do I choose the 33 or go up one size or more. How did you choose? I went 36 which is perfect for me. I wear Gustin 36/37 slim but if it was strictly on waist I would be a 35 but I have big legs. A guy on reddit posted his 36 Sammy's pre post measurements and it was perfect for me. Go by the BIG chart. Then calculate shrinkage off that.
