I've always known about ebates.com and used once or twice for some large-ish eBay purchases but never really gave it much thought. I got tipped off recently that they're giving 6% cash back rebates at many sites over the holidays and started digging into it. Lo and behold, Rakuten is one of the sites that participates with them. You get 3% back there and 4% back from Amazon. I know we're talking dollars at a time here but if you think about it, over a quarter they should add up. At the end of the day, every little bit helps and they dump your cash into your PayPal account quarterly. Thought this might be of interest to some of you - not sure how much of a habit I can get into in checking it before purchasing but they do give you a frame on top of a site that participates reminding you to activate the ebate and there's a browser extension you can install that gives you an eBates logo in your browser which glows when you're visiting a participating site. I know this sounds like a shill but you should know by now that I'm out to get deals on stuff - they're offering $10 gift cards to Walmart, Target, Macys, and Kohl's right now as well as an instant $5 into your eBates account. But to make this more shilly, if you sign up, you'll instantly get one of those gift cards above plus we'll get a chance at winning $75.
