GAP raw selvage type III

Welp gonna do a little review on a GAP type III denim jacket.

Originally on sale for $149 IIRC. I never thought twice about it. Never looked. Went to GAP in September to buy one of the denim workshirts that old26 bought. $30 and I was happy. Went over to clearance and found this bad boy. Of course GAP doesn't give you every spec but here it goes.

13oz indigo same as the jeans as far as I can tell
Made in china from Japanese shuttleloom woven denim. Gap says woven on vintage looms.
Red selvedge ID
Raw never washed and decently stiff.
Gap 1969 bronzed hardware

Construction is where this really hit it out of the ball park. Selvedge is on both sides. Decent hardware. Flat felled seams! Which nearly blew me away since my old lucky brand was not. Canvas pocket bags on the interior looks like the same canvas Gustin is using on the "new heavy" pocket bags. Also they tell you it will shrink approx a size when washed. So of course it fits large now but after wear and a wash it will tighten up as one would expect.

Best part $35 on clearance. $70 for two quality denim items at GAP I was souped.

I'm telling you - the GAP has come through on about 97% of the orders I've made.
I also love the underwear - it's now my (and my wife's) favorite.  You just never know...

agreed the recent change Gap made was great. They had made a change to their selvedge a few years ago for the worse but killed it with these new Japanese versions. Gap is a great filler brand for me atm

I have two selvage from prob 4 years ago and they are ok. I got the 2012/13 Japanese selvage 13oz same as this year and honestly I love it. All but the fact they bleed a ton.

Kinda miss wearing my cheap gap pairs.
