Three new fabrics available at Left Field (two greaser fits and one charles Atlas). They look like good deals. considering the 16.5oz Xinjiang Good lord I don't need another pair of denim but I'd like to pre order one of those. One if they stretch like cone...to size down?

I know..the 14oz look really good with the twisted yarn weft but the 16oz are more of a weight I actually need. I'm not sure if they stretch but I contacted left field today and they will release the fit guide after they are sewn up and you can always change your size if you need to once the fitl guide goes live. Also the ETA for these is February

34" waist. I talked myself out of the Stanton's because the hem is too wide for me It is. SK's are much better and still have a reasonable rise. I looked at the SK fit guide and I could probably wear a size 32. I was mainly concerned about the thigh/knees but for the SK fit a 32 looks decent. I can't go any lower than 12" in the thigh and 8.25" is acceptable. The 7.5" hem also works out since I always hem my jeans with a 32" inseam, so doing that might bring them up to 7.75" which is the widest i'm willing to go

Got my 18 oz collect mills in Chelsea fit today. Very pleased with these and I think they are a great heavier denim replacement to my 20 oz. CF's. They are quite comfortable right out of the box. The fabric is very slubby but doesn't have the vertical streakiness I sometime associate with heavy Slub. The rise is definitely higher which takes a little getting used to, but I like it. One detail I hadn't noticed before buying was the tonal stitching on the fly, but the standard copper color stitching everywhere else. All in all a great pair. Happy I bought them.

I didn't notice the tonal stitching on the fly either till I received my pair. Not a deal breaker though

Can anyone say whether the Xinjiang denim is woven in China? I know the cotton is from there, but not the rest. I e-mailed LF this question, but received no response.

Happy I bought them. my pair of Leon Denim is 14oz low tension denim from Collect Mills. By far my toughest fading pair of jeans. I'm closing in on 90 days of wear and the knee, front pocket and back pocket rivet fades have finally started to reveal themselves.

I also am interested in these new Xinjiang cotton jeans. Can Ikes or anybody else please give information on this type of denim material? I did read that the Chinese company "Sauce Zhan" uses this type of cotton on some of their jeans. Any other company's using this type of denim? If it is truly similar to Zimbabwean cotton; This pair of Left Fields at $155 are definitely under consideration for me.

I have never owned anything with this cotton before but I swear that IH has used this cotton in something. I could be wrong but I know I remember reading about it somewhere else being used by one of the big Japanese companies.

I'm going to get the 14.5 oz twisted yarn. Just can't decide what size. With low rise jeans I'm okay to size down, because I have a small lower waist. My true waist is about 2 inches bigger though, and with almost 12 inch rise I think I should size up.
For instance, my 33 Gs or Oni'stretch to about 34-34.25, but sit lower at 10 inch rise.
My true waist is about 36 right now, and when I get back down to fighting weight I'd say 34.
So I think I'll order a 34 and they should be just right out of the box when I shrink, but have room to stretch if I put on a few.
I have no experience with buying the right size. Anyone else?

No, but they have the 32 measurements up, and if you compare their last run of measurements with the measurements on the 14.5 oz, the 32s are the same. It would make sense that the other sizes would follow suit.

Actually there's a huge difference in the leg opening measurement. That has to be an error though.

Minus the rear rise being .25 inches lower.
