I was in a shop today that carries thorogood. First time I had hands on them. Very nice boots. Now on my wish list!

came across these via Instagram the other day. it's the "Dodgeville" line from Thorogood/Weinbrenner that will apparently be available in 2016, although, Context Clothing offers this boot on their website (currently on sale). I think they'll be offered in 4 different colors

I own a pair of their black bluchers for work and they're some of the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. I use to have a pair of their crepe sole leather chukkas that look very similar to Red Wing's model for half the price.

I still want the Dodgeville boot pictured above in Cognac. I know Huckberry currently has it for sale but it's $375. The weird thing is Mild Blend Supply has the brown CXL version for $325. the only downside is that I have no idea how their #60 last fits. according to Huckberry it's on the large side and you should go 1 full size down from your normal shoe size. this doesn't help me because I wear a size 10 tennis shoe, size 9 dress shoe, size 8.5 in the Tru Balance last and an 8EE on my Thorogood moc toe boots. plus, there are no wide sizes, unless there's already a ton of toe space.

If I were buying them (similar situation, 10-10.5 in Nike, 9 in dress shoes, 9 in wolverine, 8.5-9 in Red Wing) I'd go with a 9. The one on Huckberry appears to be horsehide, is the Mild Blend horse or cow cxl?

the Huckberry listing states it as "Horween Chromexcel horsehide leather." The Mild Blend Supply is listed as CXL - it doesn't say if it's horse or cow leather

Stopped in an old family run shoe store while on vacation in the NE and picked these up No idea how old they are. No date on the box and nothing online with the model number. There is surprisingly very little online about the history of the brand. I like work oxfords so for $30 I couldn't pass them up.

contact Weinbrenner, they might be able to help. Are these shoes GYW? I may. Not really important as I'm gonna keep them. GYW? I'm not sure, maybe Blake. I can see stitching on the inside. They have a rubber sole. The kind that looks a little like crepe.

Being born, raised, and still living in the Milwaukee area, you would think I would've considered Thorogood, before now. For whatever reason, I haven't. But, if I'm still as impressed by these boots after some time on the job, as I am right now, I will not consider anything else again. This is, by far, the most comfortable safety toe boot I've ever worn, right out of the box. The support insoles are phenomenal. No need to buy separate footbeds with these. Composite toe, no more numb digits. My Brannock is 11.5 H. I sized down to 11 EE, and the fit is great. Union made, right here in Wisconsin, for the paltry sum of $153 shipped. I loved my Red Wings almost as much. But, I paid nearly twice the price.

I love my moc toe boots as well and can also say they are very comfortable. I still plan on picking up some Redwings but my moc toes are tough to beat in the comfort department. I really like what they're doing with the 1892 series....just wished they were more widely available. I want the Dodgeville boot in cognac

Indigo monkey boots kinda cool. Still think the finish is a bit rough for my tastes, kinda like those Red Wings with the sewn up toe, the Carpenter boots?

Reminds me of the metal studs I saw on the trimming of couches at the furniture store yesterday.

I feel like a poseur in general work boots in an office setting. I'd feel even sillier in such specific boots. Not sure why the roughouts have rivets.
