New pants: first off is a pair of 32 slim skinny with a 31 waist fitted. These are getting close to the fit I want, but the actual waist came in at 35.5", more like the 32 would have measured at. The lower thigh is pretty tight, but would probably stretch fine. If you order these by your waist size you're looking at a fit that's approaching skinny rather than slim. As always, killer construction and they look perfect with my new Iron Rangers. Excuse the mess in my fitting room, my parents are visiting this week. Measurements: Waist: 17 3/4" Thigh: 12" Knee: 8" Hem: 7 5/8"

Second, a pair in the 905 fit size 31. This fits like a Carhartt slim, if that existed. High rise and lots of room, but nicely slimmed in comparison. These would be great for working in, but not as much a fashion pant. Includes a bonus shot with my Zim work shirt. Measurements: Waist: 17 1/2" Thigh: 12 5/8" Knee: 9 5/8" Hem: 8 7/8"

What's up with our new image uploader? It rotated my pics and keeps trying to do an App Store redirect.

I still can't quite put my finger on the CF fit. Look at those pics I posted above and you'll see a pair that measures out just like the CF 32 slims per their fit guide. They're pretty skinny (definitely wearable but slightly big in the waist) while 33 slim Gustins are slightly loose on me. If I had describe the way the fit vs. the way they measure I'd say the CF slim fit = Gustin skinny and CF straight is significantly roomier than a Gustin straight. But if you're wearing 35 slim Gustin there's pretty much no way you're fitting in 32 slim CF. Ciano has told me their slim is similar to the Levis 511, which is too skinny for me in a waist size that fits. I'd also add that N&F Weird Guys fit me pretty much just like the CF slims.

I was thinking of the CF 33. But wonder if they act like sanforized or not.
It all depends on this. A gustin 35 is 35.5" but will probably be more like 35" after a wash.
So Do the duck: 1. shrink like sanforized gustins: then = CF 33 (wich will be 35" after wash) 2. shrink more...then = ?

when i had asked ciano about shrink via email and he estimated the 12oz (based on a different but similar fabric) a 1/2" shrink in waist and length

My past experience with Carhartt would indicate that shrinkage will be pretty minimal. Not sure if Ciano has washed a pair yet to see how the actual shrinkage works out. I'm 99% sure it's sanforized so you're not going to get any crazy shrinkage.

what's the lead time on a pair of CFs right now? My invoice was paid on 12-9. I'm hoping to see something soon, as was told lead time was 3-4 weeks at that time.

So how can they be more skinny then slim when they are bigger?

Griffin said: I dont get it. They are still bigger from the measurements then your gustin 33?? So how can they be more skinny then slim when they are bigger? My 33 slim Gustins came in a tad big, but the CF pants seem to taper more sharply from the thigh to the knee measurement. My point is that if you order a waist size that's the same in CF Slim and Gustin Slim the CF pants are going to be way tighter. Those CF slims in my pics are at least an 1" too big in the waist but are essentially skin tight from the top of my thigh to my calf.

Ok. But just humor me, what would you recommend if you know I am a 35 slim in G and they are tight in the waist so I need to stretch them out some to get comfy. The waist is the only tight thing and the rest of the pants are kinda loose on me.

The waist is the only tight thing and the rest of the pants are kinda loose on me. Do you want them to be tighter than your Gustins? The 33 slim CF will definitely be trimmer than the 35 slim Gustins in everything but the waist. I'd be tempted to ask him to do a 34 slim with a 36" actual waist. The slim ones in my pics are 1 size down from Gustin, if that's the look you're going for then you should be fine.

i wear a gustin 31 slim, which arrives buttonable, but snug and stretches to a nice fit. i ordered a pair of ciano duck chinos in the 901 slim fit in a 'label size' 30 asking for the waist to be 32" instead of the standard 33" for that label size.
according to the fit guide that's posted, these should be roomier in the thigh and ankle than the gustins are. the knee is the only measurement that is smaller, and only .1" smaller at that.

(That was for a pair of denim jeans rather than duck canvas, though. Maybe the production times are different.)

I think Ciano is a lot smaller operation, and they could easily fall behind if they don't manage new orders with backlog.

I like it. Looks functional, and a great weight. I see they have the 18oz Duck Khaki up, and I'm interested in that. I hope to get my first pair of chinos soon, to check the fit first, before moving ahead.

Man sizing is odd. I feel weird ordering a 34slim but I think it fits the bill.
PS: my gf is buying me them for valentines day I am still on the No spend bandwagon. Just incase dev is reading this.

I dig the jacket, but I'm worried it might be even a little more baggy around the waist than the Gustin chore. Looks like the hem width is slightly larger than the chest width. The contrast stitching, double inside pockets and internal side adjustment are cool for sure.
