I believe I have a line on the first ever Ciano Farmer duck canvas pants. They're making them in my size, then posting pics (likely in this thread) before I can buy them. Duck canvas pants seem shockingly hard to find in the middle ground between Ironheart/Roy/Left Field and Carhartt on the low end. N&F weird guys were way too skinny in the legs and the Carhartt WIP pants I ordered have very oddball sizing in the top block vs. bottom block.
Anyway, I can't wait to see them as I don't need anymore denim. I've always loved the look of the fabric and would like a more modern fit than Carhartt cuts.

I'm with you man. I have some old Carhartt double front ducks that are great work jeans, but wifey doesn't like me wearing them out on the town. I don't want to spend $200 for some Left Field's, which I think are overpriced. E-mailed Ciano the other day, and was told he has some 18oz. water resistive duck on the way, in dark brown, and black.

Love my N&F duck in navy except the fabric is a bit thinner than I like. I posted yesterday on the N&F thread that Gilt has them on sales for $59. I am definitely down for a dark brown one. Waiting to see what comes out from both Lawless and Ciano.

The downtown-able duck pant is my white (brown?) whale right now. Although I did once have a girl working an art gallery show in LA say "oooh, where'd you get those pants?" while checking out my Carhartt double knees that were beat to hell from summers of surveying in Alaska.
I'd like to see a clean, modern fit, 5 pocket, single layer pair first, but I would probably pick up another pair (ideally in a heavier weight like the Ironheart pants) with double knees and possibly utility pockets.

I'd love some of these chinos made with selvedge duck. The price on the N&Fs is super hard to resist, though.

Just think about how much Gustin is charging theirs. The fit of the weird guy is pretty similar to the Gustin slim except the N&F is slimmer below the knees.

Yes, slightly tighter in the thigh and way slimmer from the knee down.

I'd LOVE to be in on the Ciano duck jeans.
There are a few other options out there that most of you probably know about, but some may not.
It's worth checking stuff out on Rakuten. Pointer Brand does a standard 5-pocket out of duck, as well as their carpenter pant - you can also get a slightly varied 5-pocket at Hand Eye Supply, with rounded rear pockets. Actually, if you order 6 pairs, you can make special requests on the order too - double-knees, for instance. Also, the Bob Dong/Branson denim stuff on Taobao or whatever it is looks pretty awesome - although I gather ordering from that site can be a nightmare.

cianofarmer - these look great! However the buttons on the chino style look low (as if it would be poking me when I sit in them), especially for that style of button. I'd trust that you've done your ergonomics research and make sure these aren't going to make me feel like I've been shot in the bum after a long day working in an office. The one thing that keeps getting me is the quality of the craft all your products have exhibited. Thank you for continuing to post pictures of your works in progress, it shows a genuine pride in the product you're selling, and that goes a long way in my book. This also shows a level of open-ness that is not common among people in your industry, which is also admirable.

Nothing like a little reward at the end of a day of work. We appreciate the update. The 5 pocket is looking good and I am not that much of a canvas jeans guy. Never had a pair. I take it that canvas will hold up better than your average denim as far as ripping, tears etc?

I am officially excited about both of these. Very excited. Looks like exactly what I've been waiting for to fill in some holes in my closet where some canvas pants I've had for over a decade are finally showing signs of giving up the ghost.
