ickes, yep, they work well. I know we've talked about Dickies back in the day and that's kind of how the duck chinos work for me. If I were 17 I'd be skating in them. Actually, I'd be skating in them now except a) I fall too much and would destroy them b) I skate in shorts with knee pads becasue of a) Just check the fit carefully, the slims are pretty slim despite the fit chart. Maybe this next batch will come in closer to nominal but it seems the last came in snug. I'm about due for my semi annual month of skating ending in a multi month injury recovery. At times, not being a kid can indeed suck.

I sized up 2 from straights to slim and the fit is perfect. Only alteration I did was hemming. My Gustin chinos are some of my favorite pants.

davelewis, you speak the truth. Motorcycle: Everyone has either been down or will go down at some point. Lots of gear options, actual brakes. Skateboard; You're going down more times than you can count. Every day. No gear or all the kids make fun of you and chase you out of the skate park. (actually the no gear thing is not totally true, I wear a helmet and knee pads now, I'm "that guy").

I come from a town with a large 13' pool in the skatepark, so old dudes with knee pads and helmets are not only common but in a some cases killing it harder than the kids. The only reason I won't switch is because I absolutely refuse to wear shorts. Gotta be sure to put those skate fades on my jeans!

Here in socal even the smaller parks usually have a decent bowl. I used to go to Clairemont and Santa Clarita with my son and the bowls there are epic. So I guess I'm one of those old guys minus the absolutely killing it part. 50/50s, backside rocks and the like are all I can really pull any more. Like @david, my knee and shoulder joints sound like popcorn.

I have asked this on the other board but there seems to be a few updates on the Chinos (late nov/dec) about orders being sent but I have yet to hear from anyone who actually received them. Anyone at least get shipping info?

Nope, not yet. the last update I got was:
Production status: 1/25: This batch is finally finished and we will start shipping out orders on Monday. We will continue shipping chinos in the order they were backed.
So they were supposed to start shipping last Monday. No, I have not received a shipping notice yet.

I am annoyed but if they fit to spec I can live with it because they are so nice. But if they are not within their spec guide I am returning and not for store credit.

I sent an email asking for a refund if they don't ship this week. I don't really want a cardholder.

I contacted them earlier and I was given a $15 credit but this is for 3 pairs.... I contacted and was basically told "well, wait longer, we're doing our best", no credit or offer of anything. Last pair of chinos I'm likely to order from Gustin. The first were two months late, these are two months late, just not worth the wait anymore for me. Hopefully they ship this week, but to figure they will would be lunacy since they've been finished as per the last three updates, and pending shipping, for the last 6-8 weeks. They no longer email updates so there's no record of them saying anything, which is guess is convenient from their perspective, but just peeves me from a customer perspective.

i contacted them two weeks ago asking for a 'realistic' status for the brown and army green ducks. i was issued a $5 credit per pair and ren shipped me a nat veg tan patch for the zimbs i had backed a few days before. the updates were still incorrect, as he's told me they'd be shipping each week for the past 3. the update he gave me yesterday was:
"We shipped out a small set of orders last week, but we're getting a huge batch of chinos tomorrow. Just confirmed by the factory. Chances are really high that you'll get both of your chino orders shipped out this week."
...we'll see

So, first I want to say that I'm in the same boat regarding my green ducks, and I'm probably about to have a similar situation with my selvedge khakis.
I did get lucky somehow and they sent me what I assume was the sample pair of brown ducks from the photos (I got them immediately after the campaign closed). They are beyond awesome.
I'm not saying you should have to wait, I'm just saying that they're worth it. The details and construction quality are amazing. IMO they are the highest quality non-jean product in Gustin's lineup.

Cody sent me a $10 credit and a promise that they'll ship this week. Sounds exactly what they should have done. If you did ask for a credit card they would have done that. I know from experiance.
