Dropped a good bit of weight and body fat over the past 2 months, and I plan to keep it off, so I'm shifting these vests since they no longer for me, even fully cinched.

I don't recall which leather it's made of, sorry... But, the website states that battered steerhide is the recommended choice. Being that I bought it from their sale rack (It was used as a showroom piece), I would assume they made it from their standard recommendation.
