So it's hit 90+ here in New England. When it gets this hot I like to wear a light button up like a chambray if I'm going out in the public (TShirt if I'm just kicking around the home).
Question is, should I wear an under shirt? What is the "rule"? TShirt all the time? Or is a light button up casual enough to skip the Undershirt?

I think the latest rule is, IF you wear an undershirt, it shouldn't be visible... So, that means V-neck is better than crew neck.
Personally, I'm anti-understhirt, except when wearing "dress clothes" (Shirt + tie, or shirt + tie + blazer/sports coat)

For me it's either no undershirt or a wife beater if I do wear one.

I switched to wife beaters only in the winter or unless wearing a "see through (ish)" shirt to a more formal location.
I also have shifted from pique polos in the summer to these tshirt polos. Has a pocket and a collar to disguise that it's a tshirt. I'm surprised G has not started making them yet.

With mild temps i wear a v-neck. Hot temps = no undershirt.

no undershirt for me, but that's a personal comfort thing. I've never been great at layering because an undershirt always feels too constricting.

Decided not to wear a TShirt, just a chambray. Feels much better. Not sure why I didn't do this before.

I just went through this Saturday. I had on a chambray with an undershirt, stepped outside and then turned around and went back in and took the undershirt off. It just felt too muggy with the added layer and I feel like the chambray breathed pretty well - I didn't find my pits sweating like mad which can be an issue for me.

I prefer to never wear an under shirt. Even with flannels. It has to be cold for me to want to wear one.

And if it's THAT cold, I'm not so much "wearing an undershirt", as I am "wearing an overshirt" on top of a tshirt. There is NO WAY I could classify an IHT-1600 as an "undershirt", lol!
