I am looking for travel pants. Light, flexible, breathable. I found some I like from du/er, but would prefer something not made in Pakistan. Anyone have suggestions for pants that will do well walking around Spain in 90 degree heat?

I've been enjoying the TS/Mission workshop travel chinos. They've been great for hiking, biking, and hot days in the office.

JC**W has some solid blue seersucker drawstring pants but size down 1 or two on the waist. They are super comfortable.

Yep, second Outlier. Pants travel great, if you leave them in the bathroom during a hot shower they'll look perfect each day and take a while to develop any funk.

I took a couple pair of lightweight pants to Spain a few years ago and they sat rolled up in the bottom of my bag for the entire trip. It was just too hot and humid. I was in shorts every day. Obviously everyone is different and shorts may not be for you.

Are you speaking of venues that frown upon shorts, or countries? If the latter, I haven't been to a country where locals didn't wear shorts during summer. That said, it takes a miserably hot day to get me into shorts while traveling.

Ireland. I got yelled at for wearing shorts by an old guy wearing a wool sweater when it was 90+ outside in Dublin.

Despite 90 degree heat, I don't think I saw anyone in shorts in Istanbul. I also think if you are planning on going to a bunch of churches/mosques/temples on your travels it is courteous to not wear shorts.

hilarious about the old man in ireland. i saw a lot of people in shorts in istanbul a few years ago, but definitely agree about being respectful/courteous of your surroundings. not advocating for shorts...just never understood when i hear people say 'oh...don't wear shorts or you'll look like a tourist' a.) locals wear shorts in the ~12 countries i've been to and b.) you're likely to look like a tourist for plenty of other reasons, which isn't an inherently bad thing.

I bought too much stuff.
JCrew Seersucker pants were a good idea. Very comfy. Plus an Irish linen shirt.
Bought some shorts and linen shirts from Uniqlo also.
The du/er pants are ridiculously comfortable so I bought those as well. They're not raw selvedge, but damn if freedom of movement isn't nice sometimes. Also they are made of lyocell so they won't stink.
Outliers pants were too slim, and more than I wanted to spend.

There is US brand - Bluffworks, that making clothing for commuting/traveling and in the USA. I have Gramercy pants from them and couldn't be glad more. Light, don't stick like cotton, don't wrinkle and additional pockets. Recommend.
