Just bought a shirt from proper cloth in a Thomas Mason oxford for my upcoming wedding. We will see, but with the fit fully customized the total was not much more than a Gustin or TS "sort-of custom", and they have tons of fabrics. And (Bentin drum roll) all made in the USA (although cloth sourced from Italy, Portugal, Japan). In any case, wedding is a far ways off and your first shirt can be sent back and altered if it doesn't fit right, so I say it's worth a shot. Anyone else have experience with this company?

Wait, I thought they were made in Portugal? Oops, Malaysia. They were MiUSA until about three or four years ago.

Whoa. Well maybe some are? I have an email from them last week saying the Thomas mason i ordered would be miUSA..... I'm not super particular as long as makers are paid a good wage, but would be super disappointed if I was misled....

Don't have any experience with proper cloth, but this is the part of the thread where I extol the virtues of ratio shirts. Custom fit shirts, definitely all made in USA. Not sure how prices and fabric choices compare, but I have three and they are great.

Ratio seems uncommitted to competing with what PC offers and very slow to add new materials. The PC Western option is nearly enough to make me go back to them.

Just got two PC shirts and not impressed. One shirt was an inch longer than requested, and neither had shrink allowance added. Both appear to have shrunk below my requested size after a cold wash and hang dry.

Proper Cloth sent me remakes of my incorrectly cut shirts. These ones are worse. 21.75" chest came in at 21" pre wash with a fabric that shrunk a half inch last time.

I'd heard that their quality was dropping since they moved from Portugal to points east. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. I'd recommend Ratio if you're still looking and don't mind the decreased material selection.

I would have gone ratio but I needed them quick for a trip. 2 week turn around is pretty good if they could size appropriately

Sucks that they blew the replacements. I have an order in with Ratio currently, and decided to try them over PC for a couple reasons. One being that I went with a plaid linen that PC didn't offer a comparable to, and would rather not go the import rout, especially with PC having higher price points.

I have 3 ratio shirts and they all arrived 2-3 weeks from order. Good CS too. I had a misaligned pocket that they fixed right up.

I definitely should've gone Ratio. PC customer service has been good though. They told me to wear the shirt on my trip if I want and they'll remake it when I get back. Definitely going Ratio next time.

My DJA cotton shirt and Japanese double gauze from proper cloth came in perfectly cut, after a couple of washes. I was a bit worried at first but remembered they specifically mention accounting for this shrinkage and adjust the size accordingly. Couldn't be happier with this companies quality or craftsmanship. I'd certainly try ratio, but their lack of fabric options makes it far less appealing. That and I love that they are now providing good paying jobs and working conditions for people in Malaysia. In a country where most of the working conditions are terrible, it's nice to know that I'm helping in some small way to provide a safe job for these people.
