I think these are a great alternative to the "classic" jeans.  I have no doubt that Ciano would sew on two pockets for anyone who wanted it.

Soliciting thoughts on denim selection for these.

I'm currently leaning toward this:

I think either denim would work well.  You might just have to toss a coin, although further thought lends me to believe the Texas denim might lend itself better to the vintage vibe of A.B. Elfelt.

Thanks Dave, I had the same thought.

Am most likely leaning towards the Japanese though, I just love the consistency of that color whereas the Texas is a bit washed out. 

I'll have to call those guys, I miss seeing them around.

I *think* the Japanese denim is the same as the Oky standard from Gustin, which I have and think are great.

I *think* the Japanese denim is the same as the Oky standard from Gustin, which I have and think are great.  

I have a pair of the Okayama Standards from G, and agree that it is a very good denim.  I haven't worn mine in, as I picked them up last fall I think, and usually wear heavier stuff during the Winter months, but plan on getting some use in them soon.
