I didn't actually search to see if there's a thread like this, so if there is, I'd appreciate a merge.
I'm going to London for 8 days on Monday. Any ideas of what to go see or do? I'll be there with my brother. We're going to airbnb a joint near soho. And will I stick out like a sore thumb if I wear merino wool henleys for the entirety of the trip? On an unrelated note, Taylor Stitch makes amazing merino wool henleys, highly recommend.

i've never been to England, or Europe for that matter, but maybe a visit to all the shoemakers is in order? I don't know how close companies like Edward Green, John Lobb, G&G, etc., are in proximity to London. What about checking out Iron Heart HQ?

Night life is amazingly formal in London. If you want to club it, take a suit and tie. I tend to take a wool blazer this time of year for daily wear.
Imperial War Museum, the Globe, British Museum, Tate are all easy to get to from Soho. Of course a trip down Saville Row and Jermyn Street is worthwhile.
Wagamama and Pret are decent for easy food.
Hit Foyles bookstore to see a dying breed.

Pubs you can just wear whatever. I wouldn't worry too much about sticking out as a Yankee there (unless you're gonna wear a bald eagle/US flag T-shirt and fanny pack). They're just like us!! But with more tweed and sweaters.

Don't forget that you get 20% off of listed prices if you buy shoes or clothes. Even IH. Shocking.
Green is a block down from Turnbull and Asser (Trickers is on that first block), Lobb and Crockett and Jones are another block down, across from Princes Arcade. Both Taylor's and Trumpers are there too if you want to get your shave on.
Don't forget Rivet & Hide.
One other thing, since you're with your brother. Don't order two beers by holding up your index and middle finger, that's flipping off the bartender. Use your thumb and index finger. Learn from my mistakes. You also tip bartenders by buying them a pint, not paying cash.

Get tickets to a Tottenham, Chelsea or Arensal match.
If you're doing a lot of touristy stuff, the London Pass can be worthwhile, you can get them combined with a tube pass too.

Mainly because they were relegated most of my formative years. They had an impressive run last year though. I'd just prefer the other stadiums for a short visit and would love to hit one of the final matches at White Hart Lane if I could get over there this season.

The British Museum is the first on my list of places to visit. They have an extensive collection of artifacts related to Biblical history, and that's one of my major interests. I'll also be there a day before my brother so I intend to spend the first day hitting up all the clothing and footwear stores, since my brother has zero interest in any of them. C&J to get fitted for Lindricks and Dundees and EG just because. Probably try to get to Rivet and Iron Heart as well. Then after the first day I just want to eat, drink, and see the sights. Not into non-American football, so I may pass on that, but if my brother wants to go, I won't mind. Thanks for the bar etiquette tips, bentin! Gonna come in handy.

Also worth noting that unlike the old days when pubs closed at 10p, and you had to find a shut in to drink later, now they can stay open as long as the bartender wants to stay there. Find a good pub near your airbnb and make friends.

Anyone here have much experience with the west coast of Florida? Trying to plan a beach vacation for late spring and right now we're looking into the St. Pete/Clearwater areas, Pass-A-Grille Beach in particular.

Heading to Amsterdam in a couple days. Any clothing shops not to be missed? I am currently in Bucharest. I wouldn't say the selvedge denim scene has hit here yet. A better city than I had anticipated however.

If you're shopping for jeans in Amsterdam, you're doing it wrong. And you missed 4/20.

I've been in Romania for the last week or so, tagging along on my wife's work thing. This is the first time I've been to a former communist country and I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised. I was worried about the food in particular, but it's actually been pretty good. There are some pretty beautiful cities here that rarely see American tourists. Despite that, nearly everyone I've spoken to in hotels, restaurants, etc. has spoken very good English. Another great thing: it is crazy cheap. The denim scene here, however, is god awful. The men wear a horrible combination of skin tight stretch denim, acid wash, zippers on knees ( ), and prefaded/ripped (with or without patching). The prefades aren't even in places one would get fades (backs of calves, but not the backs of knees?).

Mens pants in Europe are a joke, lol! I see SO MANY (Reads: 70-80%) guys with legit JEGGINGS on. Seriously, the only difference between their pants, and my wife's yoga pants, is the fabric.

I'll be heading to Target Field to enjoy a Twins game, Saturday night. It's an annual event with friends from a fantasy baseball league I'm in. I may have time to stop at a store, or two, before and after our festivities. I've already ruled out MP3 and AF. Neither of them quite fit my interest. But, I will probably stop at BlackBlue on my way out of town, Sunday. Any of you Twin City Slickers ( gaseousclay , nate001 , Winterland ) have any other suggestions for me ?

Some good places to eat that I like: - George and The Dragon. Decent pub style food.
- Red Cow. Gourmet burgers with a nice craft beer selection.
- Victor's Cafe. Tiny restaurant that serves Cuban food. Usually crowded but worth a punt.
Maybe try some Surly Beer while you're in town. It's decent but expensive. They have a cult following here.
Surprised you're not going to mp3. They're downtown I think but carry a ton of brands. The Filson store is in the north loop, otherwise, there's a Filson outlet in Eagan

It's only a day trip, though. I think I could probably get lost in that place for hours. I'll give it a go, the next time around. The Red Cow sounds like my kind of place. I don't know what's on the pregame/postgame itinerary. I'll definitely suggest it, though. Thanks.

There's a Red Cow location in the north loop downtown mpls. I think they recently opened there.
I've only been to BlkBlu once and that was to get my jeans hemmed. It's a tiny space but packed full of stuff. And they now carry PBJ and Studio D'Artisan I think

One more thing... I was planning to wear my PBJ XX-014, while hanging out in Minneapolis. Is this OK ? Or, would I be "that guy" who wears the concert T of the band he's going to see ?
