Not sure where to post this, so I just created a thread. People are going nuts on SF/GYW trying to figure out how to take advantage of Brexit. Apparently everything has already dropped in the UK by 10% or more because of the drop of the value of the GBP. Crockett and Jones GMTOs on SF have already dropped by $100+, and will possibly continue to drop. Sucks for folks living in the UK, but if you're looking to buy high quality goods from the UK, the time is quickly becoming now.

Amazing luck for me, having gotten a pay raise, cash bonus, and free relocation to England! Seville Row, here I come!
Me and my co-worker, who is relocating right after me, were singing and dancing all day at work!!!!!

So should we expect IHUK prices to Drop? I actually thought they were fixed to the dollar rather than the pound, as the GBP prices seemed about 10℅ higher recently, mirroring the fall against the dollar before yesterday. I'm kind of surprised the current IHUK GBP prices haven't shot up today, so maybe my theory's wrong.

So should we expect IHUK prices to Drop? Nope, they buy wholesale in Yen and retail their products in dollars not pounds. Also, even if they sold at retail in pounds, IH UK can wait months to react to currency changes. (This is pretty common and up to the vendor.) They aren't like Rakuten who re-prices nightly based on currency changes. When the Yen dropped over 5 years, IH UK would slowly adjust prices down a few times a year.

Rivet and Hide deals in GBP, so currently it's like an extra ~18% off at R&H.

I'll be working with the guys in Mildenhall/Lackenheath area. Unfortunately, I'm absolutely not a beer drinker, but I'll be just fine to sip some fine Eastern Block vodka.

Since British independence day, brit Scottish brands such as Aero are beginning to look a little more reasonable in terms of USD. Edit: Whoops, though the company uses the pound, it's actually Scottish. (Pretty sure accidentally misgendering the Scottish as brits constitutes a micro aggression.) Just to nit pick, but Scots. Scottish applies to stuff, Scots applies to the people. And at least for the moment, they're still British, but I'm anxiously awaiting how this all plays out for both the Scots and the Irish.
