Couldn't find a thread for Kickstarter, so I made one. Here's an interesting company. Not a fan of the name, but the dress shoes and boots look pretty nice for the price. Ace Marks. Looks like they've gotten a ton of backers so far.

Are you thinking of backing them for a pair?

Are you thinking of backing them for a pair? they certainly look nice, and they're priced right, but something is off about them. And the name is not very prestigious sounding. I think I'll stick to the sidelines until reviews hit, like Thursday Boot.

Regarding Kickstarter shoes, I've talked about my Kendal Hyde Chinese boot situation quite a bit around here, but it's worth mentioning that after the problems they ran into they're no longer producing them in China, and have partnered with someone in the us. I think they're currently taking preorders for the USA made boots.

Interesting and successful so far Winter Parka Kickstarter. I am tempted. If the fur was real it would be a go for sure. Still doing some reading about the features. Looks like it is going to be made in Canada as they set a goal of 7000 coats to keep it in Canada, otherwise Vietnam. They are at 5700 so far. Sales are at $1,500,000 of $22,000 goal. Price is about $200 USD 19Rn6LUU.kckb.st

They sold $1.5 Billion worth! No actually 1.5 mil which is amazing for parkas. I did some reading and originally they had real fur and if you ordered right away that is what you got. Now they changed to faux fur because of pressure from the masses. Maybe they will add that option as a few people are complaining now about not having real fur. You can't make everyone happy.

Personally, I'm too much of a fabric snob to accept this for the material description:
Coats made for serious weather need serious materials. We've chosen the sturdiest hardware and fabrics with the ideal balance between luxurious feel and durability.
WHAT'S IT MADE OF?!

Is this a new alternative to CG?

Canada Goose parkas are very nice but over 3 to 4 times the cost of these.

We use our own proprietary fabric for outer shell that is breathable and water resistant. North Aware uses a proprietary synthetic insulation in the outer shell and white duck down (10% feather) in the inner lining. I am considering one for my better half. She has too many fashion jackets that don't keep you warm. I have been trying to influence her best I can.

Intriguing. I may have to consider this. At the moment, I use S-shaped shower curtain hooks on the center back loop - no issues for my denim that I've noticed. It's like he was selling the idea to more of the novice denim aficionados because I feel like a lot of folks in this community have thought this through and have solutions they seem quite content with (could be a reach on my part).

i find that the little hooks on plastic hangars work for belt loops. i've used those for hanging to dry plenty of times, and for general hanging i just use a small rack with hooks on the back of my closet door and use any side or rear belt loop.

Doing an entire house clean and organization on Monday, and extra sets of wooden hangers would be nice.

I'm the devil. I fold 'em and toss 'em in a drawer. I have not seen any adverse effects. But these look simpler and are under a buck at the Land of Bezos:

The design will have trouble with anything that has double back beltloops, or a single one at an angle - overall not a bad idea though. It does stretch out the belt loops a bit to hang by them, but this product doesn't solve that, so I'll just continue using the bakers rack S hooks I get at Amazon for like $.75 each.

Kickstarter is like the new aged QVC or Home Shopping Network... Most items are so cheesy, but somehow, the creators find a way to make the sales pitch cheesier than the items.
