ickes, which one did you go for? You sure you wouldn't need XXL? I'd have gone up to the XL.

ickes , which one did you go for? You sure you wouldn't need XXL? I'd have gone up to the XL. Not for this one. My only XXL's are the UHF's which as we all know are a very thick fabric. This one being a thinner material should be perfect for me in XL. |

Let's hope they get more of the grey herringbone in to start with, as that will probably fly out too. It's a bit annoying to miss out just because you're not sat online within 30 seconds of release.

Argh, glad I didn't take a flyer on the XL from RB--XXL looks almost perfect. Now a few moments of agony while I hope someone snags the last one on IHUK so I can stop thinking about dropping another $305...

Yeah I agree, it is a bit annoying. The good thing though is that other vendors get these releases too so if you miss it on IHUK you can pick it up from Rivet and Hide, SelfeEdge, etc... |

There's fit pics up already on IH, but I don't know how the guy got them on day of release. Certainly a trim fit at your normal size.

Does being on the notification list guarantee early delivery? I'd be surprised if the IH forum encouraged RB purchases to be discussed, and the guys there seem very loyal to IHUK.

No, being on the notification list just guarantees you will be sent an email when they are live. That's it. The guys there are very loyal to IHUK but at the same time I do see quite a few guys purchase from RB/Rakuten and openly post pics and discuss it. |

People do it, but it's quietly frowned on. That's my feeling. The IH forum is an IH owned marketing tool to build the brand and increase their retail sales. It seems like forum members would be careful with posts that amount to "look I bought your stuff from another retail competitor for 50% less" (with no VAT, no taxes, no import duties, and no secondary retailer margins). Edit: And I suspect it's those kind of posts that prompt IH UK to pressure IH JP to stop allowing Japanese retailers to ship globally. |

I don't go over there and flaunt, because other guys seem to have the same mindset... But, there are at least a couple of expatriates who live in Japan over on the IHUK forum.
Nobody ever said anything to me the few times I went and posted my early grabs, but eventually I decided on my own that it was in bad taste to do so, so I've stopped doing it. Even though it's known that I live in the motherland (Because a few of the guys follow me on IG) it's just not talked about. But, I've proxied a few guys from that forum, it's always low-key though. Nobody has ever said "Great job @untucked in getting me xyz! Smooth and easy transaction".

I used to have that impression as well but now I wouldn't say that's entirely accurate. IH Japan is Ironheart but Giles has been and is influential in the creative process of many of the products. Obviously giles can chime in on this but there are several IH products that IHUK are responsible for. The TurquoisexGrey and MaroonxCream UHF Buffalo checks that were released this winter for example, and the Ultra Heavy Flannels all together actually. IIRC Haraki was leaning towards not selling them anymore but Giles and crew pushed for it so Haraki agreed. Also, I think I remember reading that Giles is the one who pushed Haraki to produce selvedge denim as the early IH denims were not selvedge. I think the classic IHSH-21 chambray work shirt was also a product of IHUK. I'm sure there is more that I can't recall right now. Also as I've stated before, Giles/IHUK have basically introduced IH to the western world and made it more accessible. The argument could be made that many of us wouldn't be aware of IH if it weren't for IHUK. So they are definitely more than just a company paying for the rights to sell it as they are much more heavily involved than that from what I understand. |

Initially, I thought I wanted the 137's..... They're not my cup of tea though. I've resisted for what seems like 2 weeks, in spite of the fact that I'm currently making an extra $150/day in Korea... There's actually only 1 item in the whole IHJ store that I want right now, but I'm still gonna wait it out
