looks like Gustin is working on offering a flannel lined trucker at some point in the future. Yeah, that's been suggested to them for awhile over at SF and they're only now just getting around to it. I love my waxed trucker but my problem is this, they waited too long and I already have a brown waxed trucker. Lawless offered a lined cruiser in two varieties at a great price so they got my business instead. The only way I would've considered a lined trucker from Gustin is if it was offered in the dark oak, but even then I'm just buying the same thing. I own a Filson short cruiser as well and even though Lawless' cruiser is identical in design, I opted for the navy British millerain waxed cruiser rather than the brown 14oz cruiser. I've been contemplating the lawless lined cruiser in the millerain as well.

I still ordered anyway. Actually wished they offered that green color in the sample. The brown is just too dark.

I posted Lawless' fit guide and Filson's short cruiser fit guide for comparison. I believe the Filson is made of 6.5oz twill, whereas, the British millerain is 9oz. they should be very similar.

Filson's soy wax cruiser retails for $295 and with Lawless' 50% off promo going on right now you can get the millerain cruiser for $106.50, so you're only paying 1/3 the price. Not a bad deal when you consider the alternatives. I have no idea what Gustin will charge for their lined trucker but it'll be more than $139

gaseousclay where did you find the filson fit guide? I've not seen one before. I have the one pictured on top. One of my favorites. It is a coated cotton, they call vacheta cloth. Kind of like a raincoat material. In an XL it fits me perfectly. When you compare the two the proportions are different. Depending on your build that could be good or bad. To me the Filson has a more refined look/design than LD.

I actually saw and tried on the vacheta cloth cruiser at my local Filson outlet but didn't like the feel of the jacket. to be honest, it felt a little cheap, like those recyclable shopping bags.

Thanks anyway. If you remember please let me know. They aren't common. I got the cruiser from filson clearance. It has limited use because it doesn't breath but it has broken in nicely

It's very windproof, somewhat waterproof and feels like it will last forever.

I love my Filson short cruiser too, although I haven't had many opportunities to wear mine. Even though I bought my usual size in the Seattle fit i'm still wondering if I should've gone down a size. but then again, if I had gone down a size I probably wouldn't be able to layer as much as I do with my current size.
The thing I like about waxed cotton is that the color looks different in natural sunlight. Gustin's brown trucker has an orange hue to it, whereas, I noticed that my Filson short cruiser had an almost olive hue to it (even though it's a darker brown than the Gustin).

The Filson definitely leans toward slightly olive and looks pretty bad with that bright blue shirt. That was at a backyard pig roast in 40* rainy weather so fashion wasn't at the top of my mind.

and feels like it will last forever. And if it doesn't they'll fix or replace. gaseousclayI've seen that some people see shrinkage of tin cloth after it gets soaked.

However, the chest measurements were insanely large for a Seattle fit and seemed a little off. I then contacted another Filson stockist about sizing on the cascade shirt and they recommended I go down a size for a more fitted look. go figure. the short cruiser Seattle fit in large fits me perfectly but Filson's cascade shirt i'd have to go down a size.

Thanks! That could be useful. I noticed that most tin cloth items are bo till march from filson. Either selling really well or supply problems.

I wonder if this means they're phasing out some of their tin cloth models, like the short cruiser? It could be supply problems though. I think some of their tin cloth, if not all, is sourced overseas.

I'm hoping they release a dry tin version. I have one dry jacket and like the material. Oil isn't necessary for me and I like that I can wash it.

@wils - almost certain they will either offer it once or wait until next season to offer it. I heard there were a few back ups with it. I feel pricing might be prohibitive I bet they will be $159-179.

I feel pricing might be prohibitive I bet they will be $159-179. I won't be surprised if they wait. They really dropped the ball with the lined trucker though. This is the main reason I backed the Lawless cruiser - because they had it up at the end of November when Gustin was entertaining the idea of a lined trucker. The price will definitely go up from the current $139 price tag. I'm not even sure what sort of lining Gustin is using. Either way, it's on a brown trucker which I already own

I think it'll be closer to $200 as well and that's only because Lawless' cruiser is going for $198
