I like the concept/name. What about changing the "I" to use a DNA strand (simple) as it has "gene" in the name? I'm still sick so take that with a grain of NaCl and a shot of grain! I would have to second Old26 on this. The helix/double helix of a DNA strand would be much more "I" like for your name.

Im just playing with it. The name will not have anything in it because the logo when complete wont be able to be added on labels. It wont look detailed when scaled down to that size . SO it will have to be made much larger than when it would be in the word itself So I plan on doing it this way where INDIGOGENE gets a great font and then the logo by itself will be an actual helix unlike my use of }{ on my keyboard lol INDIGOGENE }{

do you think people might confuse your name with the likes of Indigofera or Imogene+Willie? I agree with this. When I first read Indigogene I immediately confused it with Indigofera. I realize I could be in the minority but just food for thought.

When U add in my logo idea that will all but spellout what I am saying. Once I create the branding for Indigogene, it will separate any doubt or confusion. By the way I am going to be in a meeting all day tomorrow where we will choose denim and details for our first run of jeans.

Not sure if you have used this before www.fiverr.com/You could get some logo ideas fairly cheap. I have used the service for many things and have been very satisfied with the results. You are usually dealing with someone in distant countries that is why they work so cheap. The website takes a little bit to figure out but it does work. Read the reviews of potential providers before paying.

Yes i am open to suggestions. I plan on running this logo thru the ringer b4 its finalized. FWIW, When I see "indigogene" My first thought is a nick name, some guy named gene in a Canadian tux. Not bad with a character logo. Gene + helix shape = medical/scientific

Outsource and upwork are great ways to have just about anything done for you including legal, webdesign and even business plans. I havent done anything with them but may use em for a few things

Ok so we finished cutting 30 pairs of jeans with 20 more to follow. These will be a mix of denims from Cone, Kaihara, Candiani and a few others. Most of them are denim we have all seen already but they are our 1st run of samples. They have been made using vanity sizing which we may tweak that later down the road. As iv said tomorrow I have a lot to do with details, logos and the denim we want as our 1st release.

For what it's worth I'd avoid Fiverr like the plague; the designers are cheap on there for a reason. I live overseas and have worked freelance since leaving my job in advertising for a few months- I wouldn't dream of charging so little for my work. If you're serious about the denim, I guess you're serious about the design as well; have a look on websites like Dribbble or Behance- but you could easily be charged upwards of $1,000, so perhaps for the meantime at least it's not an option. (Bit worried that reads as if I'm pining for your business which I'm not, all tied up in another project now.) All that aside, the concept is exciting! Look forward to seeing more, will be following this closely .

This sounds like an awesome project. I'm excited.
I honestly don't love the name. 4 syllables. Doesn't flow that easily off the tongue. Also makes me think of some like science project or chem experiment.

If anything good comes out of the ashes of Lawless it could well be this project. Tend to agree with you on the name, though. I think DD should make it more personal and a more immediately recognisable word. I was thinking maybe, 'Salvation Denim'. He should change his surname to 'Vedge' while he's at it.

just avoid using "Supply," "Dry Goods," or "Provisions" in your name like every other company out there.

Gene sounds like a first name, and I've seen too many aliases in forums that start with hobby + first name, i.e. ScubaDave or something, and that's what IndigoGene kinda sounds like.
