I went with Gustin's slim fit for the very first time. I kept a waist band stretch (screw style) device in during soak.
The rise is annoyingly low. I prefer the fit of my straight fit loomstates as the leg seemed to taper enough yet it kept a good rise. I'm not going to give up and hope the crotch area loosens up. I do like how the legs fit, however.

I semi-regret not picking these up for a summer pair. Keep hoping a pair in my size may magically pop up in the stock store. If you want them in a 38 straight I'll sell you mine. Brand new, never washed or soaked.

I believe the double loop is only for us big guys (36" and bigger) Are they doing double back loops on 36 now? I know 37 but never on any of my 36's.

DigDug - nice fades - what kind of boots are you wearing in the pic? I call those my Paradox. They are the Chinese made "For Life " Doc Martens www.drmartens.com/us/p/originals-boots-hardlife-1460-forlife and a pair of "BlueLace Project" (American Made Promotion) You see what I did there? It's a pair of Docs/Paradox I recommend both the Laces and the "For Life" boots (I'm on my 3rd pair)

Month 4, in the books. Another 7 - 8 wears at work. Roughly 3 dozen wears total. No wash, this month. They've had 2 tub washes, and the initial soak, thus far..... Summer is coming. Soon, I will be beating these things mercilessly.

May photos posted here. Not a lot of progression over April, no volunteer time or anything to help further the fade efforts.

IMHO, after the initial quick fade/shed of indigo, the fading on these grind to a halt and get a real smeary, muted, grey, almost dirty look to them. Kinda unappealing.

The rise is what's Killing it for me. When the years up, I'm done with them.

The slim are too small in the rise and thighs, the straights look like boot cuts to me. I am already done/out of this contest. Not a fan of these jeans.

I have the slims as well and while I typically don't mind the low rise on many of my denim (around 10"), these are easily as low as I would ever care to go (about 9"). Thankfully when I gave them a second soak I didn't soak the top block. Tucking in a shirt with these is challenging to say the least...I'm going to continue to wear mine with Mechanics shirts, workshirts or flannels untucked.

I just got my stock store pair and I could only get my actual size, so these will be my never wash experiment. After trying them on I had serious smurf fingers at work, so no more white tees with these boys. I might try soaking the legs only, or I might not bother. I'm cool with the fit, just as long as I never walk in the rain or pee on myself

5 months in, another 8-10 wears, and given a third hand wash..... Before the wash After With the warmer weather, I will be wearing them more. They should get around 15 wears per month.

It would seem, interest in the contest has ceased. With the fit issues most have had, I can understand. I will continue, though. They've been working for me. If anything, maybe I can make them worthy of a spot in the Gustin hall of fade.... Only one pic, this month. They got about 15 new wears. They've had the initial soak, and 3 hand washes. I've also changed my wash strategy. Instead of lengthy agitated washes, I'm employing short rinses and spot cleanings, every 2-3 weeks, just to knock off the work related dirt..... Here they are, hard at work..... Edit: I've been working 12 hour shifts, over the past week(including the 4th), for a chemical plant shut down. Free time is a bit scarce. I'll work on posting more pics, in the coming week.
