I like the new short cruisers and the journeyman jacket. I'm not diggin the new short cruiser. One of the things that makes the old short cruiser cool is that it's a trucker style jacket. The newly added pockets make it look like every other coat from their line of coats. The only thing I do like is the $198 price tag and that they're offered in navy and olive. If they simply added more color options to the old cruiser it would've been more exciting to see I've got a Seattle fit Mile Marker in S that's fits very slim I wanted something to work in so was looking at the Alaska fit and Tin cloth, the only olive jacket doesn't come in small I guess they need to sell some seasonal pieces but wish they'd flesh out the classic lines

Everyone and they're brother makes a trucker. Filsons has to look different (like it or not). I'm glad they're offing more dry finishes. A jacket that can not be cleaned is worthless to me. Everyone makes truckers but some have their own version which separates them from the crowd. Filson's front chest pockets are unique to the short cruiser and is something I could spot a mile away. Likewise, the lower pockets on Gustin's trucker are unique to them. LD's cruiser is a direct copy of the short cruiser, albeit in a different color and with lining (but still similar even to the soy wax cruiser). I guess I feel that with so many of Filson's outerwear offerings having the same pocket designs it doesn't really seem new or different. It's like somebody at Filson said, "hey, let's add more pockets to an already cool looking jacket."

That Brown Buffalo is pretty cool. Are they US made? they're listed as imported, so not US made. My cascade shirts are made in Portugal. Nice quality but given the price points US made would be preferable. Oddly enough, when I tried leaving a review on Filson's site for the cascade shirt they didn't bother posting it up, probably because I listed it as being made in Portugal as one of the cons. Also, this new thing they're doing with leaving their logo on their shirts is really rubbing me the wrong way. they're pulling the same crap that Eddie Bauer does with their shirts. I'm not going to be a walking billboard for Filson or any company for that matter.

Finally made it to the new Filson store in Minneapolis. Only took me a year. I worked at a studio for about 10 years right next to where the Filson is now located. Actually the Filson space used to be an electronics store where used to buy a lot of items from. The Filson store is not very big but it's great being able to see a good selection of items. Also unique is they have another store hooked onto it called Shinola. Evidently it's owned by the same company as Filson. Wasn't quite sure what to think of the store as it has a little coffee shop in it and they sell watches and bicycles? All the goods are USA made those. Didn't make any purchases as I'm too cheap to pay retail. www.filson.com/filson-life/2014/06/filson-minneapolis/

@winterland
I don't know if you knew this but there's a Filson outlet in Eagan. Can't say it's impressive. Their stock seems to consist of odd sizes, weird one offs and overstock items. They've got deals on some items but not all. I assumed that because it was an outlet everything in their store would be cheap, but that wasn't the case. I haven't been in there for 6 months so maybe it's changed a little. I too am too cheap to pay full retail, especially with Filson's price tag, so I usually opt for online sales or Fleabay

Same here, sales or EBay. They have some nice stuff but something prevents me from paying full retail.

Any of you have experience with the Mackinaw wool vest? Go down a size? How generous are these cut?

Any of you have experience with the Mackinaw wool vest? Go down a size? How generous are these cut? I wear a 44 TS shirt and a Gustin XL WorkShirt. The 42 Mackinaw fits just right. Trim enough to wear light or heavyish WorkShirt over. Not baggy, kind of fitted on me. The arm holes aren't high as to bind up with a shirt but also not low and saggy either.

I'm a XXL in Gustin workshirt, and 46 in TS, and have a Filson Mackinaw in 46 that fits me well. Filson is cut so as you can move around in it, so if you like a more fitted approach, you might try going down a size, otherwise, I'd order your normal size. These are heavy wool, so I'd account for wearing a shirt underneath.

The only Mackinaw wool vest I've seen is in the Alaska fit. I size down on the Seattle fit shirts for a fitted look. Is the mackinaw available in the Seattle fit?

Any of you have experience with the Mackinaw wool vest? Go down a size? How generous are these cut? Mine doesn't have a size marked inside but fits perfect. I know it is an older one too. it is not too loose but still is not restrictive at all. Have yours measured pit to pit like other shirts. Mine measures 39, 19.5 across doubled. My good fitting shirt and jacket size.

Filson has a bunch of new drops that I really like. Namely, the down vest and down cruiser are both pretty great. Unfortunately, my buddy who managed the leather goods department there just quit yesterday so no more employee discount I want this a lot, but $600

I think the sale started in January last year. I really like this. Sold out on the filson site.

Filson is almost definitely my favorite brand currently. I've got the green wool Mackinaw Cruiser that served me incredibly well last winter here in Colorado. I have the un-waxed tan Short Cruiser as my Spring/Fall jacket and I just picked up a charcoal Mackinaw vest.
I think my next purchase is going to be the Insulated Tin Cap with the tuck away ear flaps. Seems like that will be great for shoveling the snow that's not too far out.
Anybody have any recommendations on Filson stuff that they love?

^^ I'd recommend their cascade shirts because i think they're stylish, incredibly warm and do not have that annoying embroidered Filson logo on the chest pocket like some of their new flannels. I hear their bags are nice too
