Who's had an impact on the way you dress now? And, for lack of a better phrase, who do you want to be (or at least look like) when you grow up?

I'll start with someone who has considerable overlap across the answers to both questions for me: Yvon Choinard. Back when we were doing all sorts of field work and climbing, Yvon Choinard gear was it! Ice picks, crampons, you name it. That guy is for sure on top. Literally.

I saw that the other day. There is a fantastic Jimmy Stewart pic in there somewhere, as I recall. As a fellow tall and lanky guy, and a far more dapper one that I, he is on my style heroes list for sure. Okay, just scrolled through it again quickly and, although not a personal style hero(ine) of mine, that photo of a young Joan Crawford in the slinky evening gown ... my goodness. That'll get the blood racing. EDIT: More "old school cool" here: news.distractify.com/people/old-school-cool/

Teddy F. Ballgame, getting his double-haul on. Probably somewhere in the Florida Keys, and probably in the mid-1950s.
