I think the jacket looks awesome, especially in blue. Context had it on their mailing list yesterday and has it on their site now. Given that LC King sells Pointer Brand for under $100 it doesn't help them to point out that's who's manufacturing it. They dropped the LC King label on the final version, though, I guess we all know why. If I were going to get something like it, it'd probably be the trucker from Ciano, and maybe ask him to do the band collar, not sure.

I really like this jacket but $400 is a bit steep. Plus, context has the sleeve measurements at 24" for a large, whichis pretty short. I agree though, the navy version is pretty cool

I agree though, the navy version is pretty cool I'm assuming no one has picked up one of these since this thread started? I found one on sale for under 200 which isn't bad but def concerned with sleeve length even on the XL since 25 does seem pretty short considering my 3sixteen flannel is 27-28(depending on whos size guide you go by) and honestly anything under 26 seems like it would be barely touching my wrists lol I also wasn't aware that L.C. King made these until I came here which is sort of disheartening considering the price and that the Chore coat is the only item anyone ever seems to recommend from that brand.

Didn't pick one up. I saw it on sale as well but the odd sleeve length really killed it for me. There's an obvious rule I try to live by when it comes to clothing, if it doesn't fit then move on, even if it's something that you think looks really cool.

The LC King thing killed it for me as well. It's a crazy markup on these.

I have nothing against LC King since they're the ones producing the jacket, so I can only assume that the huge markup was because the waxed riders jacket was produced as a small batch. Ginew stated that their jacket was limited edition.

I am not sure the "limitedness" of it is worth that markup. It seems either like LC King was charging Ginew too much to produce these, or Ginew was overvaluing their product and tacking on a hefty surcharge.

It seems either like LC King was charging Ginew too much to produce these, or Ginew was overvaluing their product and tacking on a hefty surcharge. from a manufacturing standpoint, low production numbers on anything will always bring the cost of goods up. as a business that's just being smart. I don't think Ginew was overvaluing their goods by any means. because their jacket was limited edition that meant their production numbers were low and thus, their out of pocket cost higher. I think they were just trying not to lose money, which is everyone's goal. I believe, too, because they're a new brand they're not in a position to mass produce goods until they start gaining more visibility with their stuff. I know we're comparing their goods/prices to established brands that are significantly less, so I agree that the $400 price tag was steep, but to some it's probably worth it.
