A long while ago on the G forum I promised to post up some shots of the 70 year old leather racer I inherited. So here it is. No idea who made it, but it is in pretty good shape and has character that a new jacket just isn't going to have. I am on the lookout for good deals on a Navy Barbour Bedale.

Forget the jacket, nice beard! Eh - the jacket's not bad either.

The beard has more grey than it should for someone under 50.

Love old leather. Looks like you inherited a good fit. A little warm water on the collar and some shaping will tame it down a little.

I'm 35 and I've some kick ass grey sections in my beard on each side of my face. They're like perfectly symmetrical to each other...its funny...but you're exactly right, chicks dig it. Embrace it fellas. Collar on the jacket is very Gustinish, is it not?

Collar on the jacket is very Gustinish, is it not? It is but I dig it. I was too heavy to wear the jacket for at least 10 years and it just sat in a closet. It wasn't oiled or cared for. So now that I can wear it, I do so at every opportunity. Looking around at Aero and Alexander, you don't find anything quite like it. Best guess is that it is either from the late 30s or late 40s early 50s (no one is quite sure if my wife's grandfather bought it before or after the war).

Thanks for posting this. I was one of the people asking for pics a while back. That thing is kick ass and the fit is great, not boxy or loose, very fitted to keep the wind out. I would love to have an old jacket like that to ride in, the history is half the appeal.
